Chapter Eight: The Invitation

---

Billie was not one to be easily satisfied with vague answers. As soon as she heard Finneas start to talk about his date with Y/N, her curiosity went into overdrive. She wasn’t going to let her brother off that easily.

“So, what did she wear? Was she nervous? Did you hold hands?” Billie’s eyes sparkled with excitement, practically bouncing as she spoke.

Finneas laughed, holding up his hands in mock surrender. “Alright, alright! Slow down!”

She just smirked, crossing her arms. “Nope, you’re not getting away with a summary. I want details.”

“Fine,” he chuckled, rolling his eyes but clearly amused. “She wore this really cute sweater and jeans, super casual but, like, perfect. She was relaxed… like, not trying to put on a show. It was just her.”

Billie’s grin widened, and she nudged him. “Did you hold her hand?”

He felt his cheeks warm up. “Yeah, a little. We talked about all kinds of things. Honestly, it didn’t even feel like a ‘first date.’ It was just… comfortable. And she gets me, you know? Like, I don’t have to pretend or worry that she’s looking for the fame.”

Billie softened, clearly touched. “I like her already.”

“She’s amazing, Bill. I think you’d really like her,” Finneas said, his tone sincere. “It’s actually a little scary how easy it is to talk to her.”

“Then bring her over here!” Billie said excitedly, throwing her hands up. “I mean, if she’s really as great as you say, then I need to meet her in person. Tomorrow! Text her now and ask if she wants to come over tomorrow.”

Finneas chuckled, hesitating a little. “Are you sure? I don’t want to freak her out, you know?”

“Pff, she went on a date with you, she’s obviously not easily scared,” Billie teased with a playful smirk. “Come on, she sounds cool. And you’ve never been this excited about anyone. If she’s special, then she’s worth it.”

He sighed but nodded, a small smile forming as he took out his phone. “Alright, fine. I’ll ask.”

---

After a few moments of typing, he sent off the message: “Billie’s insisted that you come over tomorrow. Think you’d be up for meeting the ‘Lil sis’?”

It didn’t take long before Y/N replied, her answer popping up almost immediately: “I’d love to! Tell Billie I’m honored.”

Finneas grinned, looking up at his sister. “She’s in.”

Billie clapped her hands together, her excitement almost childlike. “Perfect! I’ll make sure everything’s ready. We’ll make her feel right at home.”

As Finneas put his phone away, he couldn’t help but feel a mixture of excitement and nerves. Introducing Y/N to Billie felt like a big step, but deep down, he knew it was right. Y/N was already someone he couldn’t imagine his life without, and tomorrow would just be the beginning of something even more meaningful.
