Chapter 6 - Vixen Levin

Within the city of New York, which is considered to be one of the biggest cities that most denizens flock to, we can see our main group within a hotel lobby as Kieran Castiel is sitting on a seat with Melissa Shield sitting next to him in the next seat. However, the two were waiting for David Shield and Damon Castiel to finish with the bookings as Kieran simply had his hands in his pockets, feeling rather bored as Melissa was reading through what this hotel had to offer.

She had excitement written all over her face as she was explaining to Kieran what she was able to read.

Melissa: "Wow! This hotel has everything! Indoor pools! A full day spa as well!"

Kieran then sighed.

Kieran: "Don't try to get used to it Mel... We're only staying for the night since we just happened to be stopping by New York while on our way to our next destination..."

Melissa stopped her enthusiastic look as she noticed Kieran's not so interested face. It was clear that something was on Kieran's mind as Melissa was worried about him. Understandably, not too long ago, they encountered some Alien Bounty Hunters that practically wanted the watch on Kieran's wrist, which they now knew as the Omnitrix. 

From Melissa's perspective about all of this, she was aware that Kieran has been a bit more focused on trying to improve himself as quickly as possible. Though for some reason, Kieran's enthusiasm has been diminished. She probably knew the reason why, as the while Kieran's first ever Villain takedown was none other than Dr. Animo, his first proper wake-up call to reality was because of the Alien Bounty Hunters from before.

Melissa: "Kieran, is this about what happened not too long ago?"

Kieran: "I felt like I was completely humiliated for most of the situation... I know I did what I had to do, to save you and everyone else but... those Bounty Hunters really gave me a beating. I still have a long way to go if I intend on becoming a Hero..."

Melissa: "Kieran... You technically didn't have the Omnitrix until recently. You've had it for a short period of time. You technically are still learning how to handle yourself since you have to treat it like a Quirk that is a part of you..."

Kieran: "But that still isn't enough... I can't learn from just training constantly with the forms... I need the action, the thrill of the moment to motivate me to learn... Drive, passion... Isn't that motivating enough to become a Hero...?"

Melissa: "I... I get what you're saying but..."

Kieran then sighs as he simply felt like Melissa wasn't understanding his point, making him feel alone in this situation.

Kieran: "Besides... How would you know...? I'm given such a burden or responsibility on my own two shoulders that could suffocate me at any moment when I don't know what kind of Hero I want to be... Your father is giving me advice and telling me where I need to focus on. While on the other hand, Grandpa is forcing me to follow the rules while sometimes you need to break them to save others... I don't know what everyone wants from me in the first place... The Quirkless guy who simply is an aspiring Support Item Inventor? Or this powerful Vigilante who goes out of his way to save others...?"

Melissa: "You still got a long time to determine that... We don't know until we're given enough time."

Kieran then gets up from his seat as Melissa was confused, though he spoke up.

Kieran: "I'm going out for a stroll for a little while. I'll be back later. I need a bit of time to myself as I felt like I didn't get any at all this vacation..."

He then put on his hood as he began to walk away with his hands in his pockets, making Melissa have a saddened look on her face as she couldn't formulate any words. She knew Kieran for a long time, and what he tends to do. As far as she knew, Kieran was probably under a lot of stress, supposedly trying to meet expectations.
