Late, but still in time today! Had the worst day at uni 🥵🎶 Windowsill (feat. Devlin) — ZAYN, Devlin 🎶
"Hi! Hi, Carlota, happy birthday!" I greeted Ines and her daughter cheerily.
"Hi Soph, so nice of you to come!" Ines replied and engulfed me in a tight hug.
"Of course! And this is for the birthday kid, or more for the parents and hopefully never for her... but you'll see!" I said and Ines looked at me a bit confusedly but we both laughed it off before I made my way to the other invitees, making sure to greet Bernardo too.And then I hit the buffet, because after shortly greeting some of the City players I knew, I didn't have much else to do. They had really gone all out for this party and I wasn't one to complain about the food.
"Now you turn every room you enter into the most beautiful place to be" I heard a familiar voice say from a feet away at the buffet table.
"I think I've just lost all my appetite" I muttered, looking up to face none other than Ruben."Really? I know you can't pass up on the pastel de nata" he chuckled and winked.
"What is going on with you?!" I hissed at him.
"Just trying to rizz you up. Checking the waters if there's a chance of a repeat of what we did a few days ago" he replied with a smug grin.
"Unbelievable!" I huffed and walked away with my full plate. But where I went, he followed. And that's how we sat in a group with Gundogan, his wife, Rodri and Laura. Originally, it was just me and Laura chatting about work, but somehow the others joined us, including Ruben, at which I tried to not roll my eyes.
"What did you get Carlota by the way?" he asked me, making small talk as if nothing was going on.
"A children's first-aid kit" I replied dryly.
"That's a bit morbid" he commented, but I ignored him."What did you get her?" I asked back.
"A Tiffany's necklace" he replied and I raised my eyebrows.
"Bet it's a very sparkly one" I huffed, annoyed by footballers spending money ten a penny.
"She's going to have it all her life and her coolest uncle Ruben got it for her" he replied and shrugged.
"Ok... That's actually quite nice. But you're not her coolest uncle. Cool uncles don't treat their girlfriends like shit" I bantered, wanting to wind him up."I'll tell her to stay away from guys like me" he replied calmly and smiled, which wound me up instead.
"Is this a game to you?" I asked and stood up upset, earning a few weird glances from the people around us.
"It seems to be one, because I lost you and that hurts" he replied frustratedly and I walked away to the balcony to catch some fresh air, obviously being followed by him.As I stood at the railing, I felt his hand on my shoulder and his face coming dangerously close to mine from behind. He leaned down to press his lips onto my shoulder and I closed my eyes to try and blend out all the memories of the night we shared together. His touch that had made me feel on fire, the orgasm that had washed over me and... the tingling feeling in my heart and stomach whenever he had touched me gently.
"I'll drive back home in ten. You know where I live" he whispered into my ear before leaving me again and I ached for his presence again as soon as he walked away. Fuck, why did he have that hold on me?
"You want one?" a girl asked who had just joined me on that balcony, stretching out a packet of cigarettes to me.
"No thanks" I replied and smiled at her friendly.
"Sure? You look like you need one" she asked as she furrowed her eyebrows.
"Not even ten of those could make me feel less stressed but thanks" I chuckled before leaving that balcony. When I returned back inside, Ruben was saying bye to Ines and Bernardo, but I tried to stay steady and joined Laura and Rodri again who were now talking to what apparently was a staff member of the club. But I was only half-present, my thoughts drifting away to Ruben and very PG18 pictures of us.
"You ok? You look pale" Laura asked concernedly and I snapped out of my trance.
