Chase's POV
We arrived back to the humble abode of the Avery home, and sat with Parker's mom who was helping us all get ready for the big move. She sat and told us stories about Park when he was a kid, and how smart he was. He was embarrassed by some of the stories, but she didn't care. Soon she would have an empty nest. I didn't mind spending my birthday with my family. They were all I had now.
"Chassia, I am so glad that you are apart of this family now, I've been waiting for Parker to grab you.. he always had a thing for you" she laughed and Parker blushed.
"Aiight ma, chill, it wasn't that serious."
"Oh I beg to differ, you used to make poems, and stories for her.. Chase he even put a heart around your name in his class picture."
"MA!!" Parker yelled, begging her to stop. We all laughed and conversed about our childhood. Leaving Karen Blvd was bittersweet. We all had moments on this street that had made us who we are today. Soon, she exited the room, and left us to talk.
"Y'all remember that time Nino's ex girl found him tryna talk to Britt, and she tried to cut his ass with a razor" Parker blurt out.
"And then tried to burn them cuts with lemon juice bruh, that bitch was crazy.. fuckin mexicans dawg" Nino added, we all laughed.
"The whole damn neighborhood heard your screams, they probably heard your ass over in Parsley Court " the laughter built as I chimed in. Good times man, and this is only the beginning.
Parker's mom reentered the living room, in her scrubs, preparing for her night shift. "Y'all be safe now, I'll see y'all in the morning" she kissed Parker's cheek and came to me. "Happy Birthday baby girl" she hugged me and for once I felt as if I had a mother again. It was a foreign feeling, that I never wanted to forget.
Once Ms.Yandy (Parker's mom) left, we all went to our separate rooms, and continued packing. Parker decided to shower, and left me in his room, packing up his shoes. He had so much stuff that you would've never believed he was living in Compton. I guess he really was saving up until he got out of here. A knock on the door shook me from my thoughts. A very worried Britt stood in the doorway.
"Britt, what's wrong?" I asked, walking toward her and reaching out for a hug. She came into my embrace and sighed.
"I gotta tell him Chase." I knew exactly what she was talking about.
"I know, I know.. Okay, get dressed, and we'll go over there" I told her. She shook her head in understanding and left for the other room. I shut the door behind me and began digging for something to wear. Amongst all of the things I had packed up, that one gift bag from the night with Damien fell into my presence. Thoughts of that night fled to my head once again, I shook my head at the memory and searched for something to wear. I had been through so much in my 18th year, it didn't make sense. I was determined to make 19 ten times better.
I got dressed in some olive green joggers, and a black tee, along with my concords. I accessorized with silver bamboo earrings and a big bun on the top of my head. I opened the door to find Parker dripping wet in nothing but a towel. I smiled, and my eyes instantly fell to his package.
"You see something you like?" He asked through a smile as he pulled me closer.
"You know I always like what you have to offer" He pecked me on the lips and tried to turn it into something more. I stopped him right before we backed into the bed. "Park, I can't.. at least not now baby.."
"You always have time for me" He began to kiss on my neck and grab my ass. I felt myself slipping into his trance.
"No Park, really. I gotta go and help Britt tell her pops"
