The next day she finished her breakfast noting that two is eating by himself in his room in the attic but before she could start the meeting about how two has been feeling an alarm goes off signaling that there's a franxx incoming and they need to suit up. Hira sighs and mutters under her breath "I need to tell the others as soon as I can..."

Hira watched in horror along with the others as Two began stabbing their franxx's spear into the klaxosaur screaming "DIE! DIE!" Hira tried to stop two but when she tried two screamed at her and said "STOP TRYING TO CONTROL ME! I NEED TO KEEP KILLING KLAXOSAUR'S UNTIL IM HUMAN! IVE BECOME MORE KLAXOSAUR THEN HUMAN NOW! I HAVE TALONS AND A TAIL TOO NOW! SO GET OUT OF MY WAY OR DIE LIKE THE CANNON FODDER YOU ARE!" Then suddenly a mental link begins being formed between Hira and two. All of sudden a ghostly version of Two begins choking her. Then everything goes black...

When Hira opened her eyes she saw a room. It was dark. Then she noticed a little boy with blue skin and blue horns and nails. She gasped as she realized something. She was seeing Two's memories. The young version of two was trembling. He was malnourished and chained to a wall. Suddenly a man you recognized as a APE scientist walked in and grabbed the young two and unchained him, dragged him out of the boy as two cried... suddenly the room around HIRA begins to fade

The scene changes and suddenly Hira is watching two who's chained to a table being constantly shot at lasers as he screams and cry however the scientist and what looks like doctor franxx watching with interest. It disgusts her as she watches the torture they put jim through as she mutters "no way... this is just like what happened when he was being experimented on at the garden..." she watches as they stop shooting two with lasers to test his healing factors when the he's shot with a sleeping gas and is knocked unconscious by it... then the scene begins to shift once again

Hira is watching her younger self see two dragged off to another experiment. When she asks the adults they don't tell her anything instead ordering her to leave. The scene changes once more now showing Hira watching with horror as she sees one of the torturous experiments they tend to put Two through. The scene changes again and now she sees her younger self begin an attempt to save Two from the adults...

a room. That was his world. He was chained up. Sometimes a man would come in with food and pat his head. He was like a father to the boy. That is if you could call it a boy. It had blue skin along with blue horns and long Blue claws as well as sharp fangs. One day the man who gave him food brought him a book. The man opened the page for him when he tried to eat it. But then as the boy continued to turn the pages the man was gone. A few minutes later the door opened and strange men came in and grabbed the boy. The boy struggled but his efforts were futile. The boy was dragged to a strange lab and chained down to a hard table. Suddenly an old geezer with robotic parts came in and spoke "you have such a human like form. It's quite impressive..." suddenly the doctor pressed a button and a laser shot through the boys hand as he screamed in pain. The old man seemed impressed by how the wound fixed itself in a few seconds. Then a woman came and dragged the boy to another room. She had his picture book from earlier and the boy took it from her. Afterwards the boy was put under more painful experiments to test his special abilities throughout the next year or so.

a girl who goes by Hira had seen the boy suffering. It pained her so much to see what the adults did to him. Unwilling to watch him suffer anymore she decided to rescue the boy.

the boy was curled up on the floor holding tightly onto his picture book. Suddenly the window shattered and the boy cowered in fear. He was aggressive at first but when he saw the girl who had shattered the window he saw that she was crying so he began to crawl to her outstretched hand sensing she meant no harm. When they got out the branch the girl was on broke causing them both to fall. This caused the girl to loose consciousness. The boy began to carry the girl through the snow shivering as he did.
He was amazed by the outside world as he walked. He saw a pair of mice and tried to eat one. The girl then woke up and tried to stop him from eating the mouse. The boy then bit the girls hand but the girl then began to caress her head which reminded him of his father. Then he let the girls hand out of his mouth. The girl began to speak but the boy just looked at her in confusion. The girl then seems to realize something.
When the girl begins to repeat one word and point to herself over and over the boy figured that she was saying her name. Her name was... hira?. The boy spoke in a strained and somewhat gruff voice
"hi... ra?" The girl then nodded seemingly ecstatic. The girl then pointed at him and said something the boy couldn't understand. The girl then looked down at the thing attached to his ankle. When she said read the ankles words out load she said "code 002... how about zero two?" The boy shook his head. He didn't like that name. He remembered something about the man with robotic parts calling him that because it reminded him of the word Oni or demon. The girl then spoke up "what about two?" And the boy now dubbed two nodded. He began to grunt what sounded like two over and over again while clapping and smiling. After that the pair continued their journey in the snow. While he didn't understand what Hira said the majority of the time, he knew when she called for him. She also gave him candy much to his delight. Then two showed her his book. The book was "the beast
and the princess". As Hira began to read the book a group of adults appeared looking for the two of them. The two of them hid and Hira promised to protect two. They managed to flee from the group of adults as they began wandering through the snow until they sat under a mistletoe. Hira went back to reading the book to two. Hira noted how sad the book was, not that two could understand that.
When she gave two a sad smile two then gave a genuine smile showing how despite not understand anything she ever says he still loves being with her. Hira then got up and said something along with two's name. But two had scraped his knee making it hard for him to walk. Hira tried to find something to bandage it with before eventually resorting to licking the wound. As Hira was kneeling two confused the pose for something in the beast and the prince book. Two pointed at the book before grunting out an attempt at words saying "mawri?".
Hiro explained what it was and this time two understood some of it. She promised to marry two when they escaped. She told him she wanted to be with him forever and become his darling.
"Daling?" Two grunted. He began to cry before hugging Hira tightly. Suddenly they were interrupted by adults with guns pointed at them. Hira tried to fight back but she was shot and fell to the ground making a thud upon hitting the snow. Two began to scream out the words "darling" over and over as he tried to grab Hira.

Hira remembered everything after seeing that. She cursed the adults. She cursed doctor franxx. But most of all she cursed herself for not remembering. This wasn't about helping her friend anymore. This was about saving the love of her life. From himself. Those were his last thoughts before she blacked out
