Chapter eight

(A/N: before I start this chapter I recently had someone help me realize that two and Hira's personalities don't match their normal ones they have as hiro and zero two. So to remedy that as two gets more and more klaxasaur like his personality is going to shift to be more like hiro's and zero twos combined. Also yes I know that normally during the mental link both two and Hira should remember each other but I'm going to make it so only Hira remembered)

When Hira wakes up she finds the rest of squad 13 surrounding her "two... where is he?" Hira questions. Ichigo then replies "we're keeping him away from you. He's just a monster and I refuse to let him hurt you" "he's not a monster! I-" she's interrupted when suddenly Ichigo administers sleeping medicine to her. Right before Hira passes out Ichigo tells her "we can talk about this tomorrow"

The next day Hira calls a meeting once she's gotten up and two has gone to get experiments done on him
"What is this about Hira?" Ichigo asks "it's about two. I think I know what's wrong with him" Hira says back "what's wrong with him is he's a monster!" Zorome says but as soon as it leaves his mouth Hira slaps him and yells "you idiot! You're half the reason he's acting like this! He's not a monster! I know it! He's just lost!" The others watch with shock. Goro speaks up "what do you mean lost?" He says his voice full of confusion. "I'm saying he's lost his way. He thinks he's a monster." Hira says and then Ichigo opens her mouth to reply "thinks? He is!" Hira begins to get frustrated with the others "WHAT ABOUT YOUR ORDER NOT TO CALL HIM A MONSTER HUH? WHAT ABOUT THAT! DO YOU NOT REMEMBER WHAT WE SAW IN THE GARDEN? THEYRE HURTING HIM AND HE'S SUFFERING ALL BY HIMSELF!" Hira storms off mad at everyone as she begins to cry

two comes back from the experiments and immediately goes upstairs. while up there he hears Hira crying in his room. He bits down on his nails and mutters "I made her cry... I really am a monster..." then he goes into the men's bathroom and begins smashing all the mirrors he can find with his fists. Even though he's breaking glass with his bare fists he doesn't take any damage because of how he's progressing into a klaxasaur having now grown hard scales over his entire body. As he continues to break the glass he screams "IM A MONSTER! I MADE DARLING CRY! IM A MONSTER! I NEED TO KILL MORE KLAXASAURS! I NEED TO BE HUMAN TO BE WITH HER OR MY DARLING!" He's interrupted by goro and zorome who walked in after seeing the commotion. "YOUR A MONSTER!" Zorome screams at two. When he screams two seemingly changes up. Instead of reacting aggressively and violently as he normally would two instead gets shy and scared. He rushes out of the bathroom muttering "he's right... I'm a monster... I need to kill more... so I can be human..."

That night after two had smashed all the mirrors he could get his hands on, Hira is in her room crying into ichigos shoulder. Ichigo was contemplating what had happened that day and suddenly Hira says "Ichigo... can I tell you what happened between me and two in the cockpit back at the garden?" Ichigo nods. "I saw his memories and... they helped me remember things... do you remember that time I came back from doing tests and you had remind me what names I had given some of the other parasites?" Ichigo nods. "Turns out I had tried to break him out of where they were keeping locked up in the garden... they were experimenting on him but it looked more like torture... it was similar to what they did to him when we visited the garden a few days ago..." as Hira spoke ichigo's face got paler and paler due to how horrifying the story was. "Eventually I broke him out and we tried to run away... the adults caught us and messed with our memories... they made me forget him and they made two forgot everything about me aside from how I called him my darling... I think he's lost and confused Ichigo... he needs help... he's not a monster I swear..." then Hira begins to break down in tears as Ichigo who's pale as a ghost after hearing Hira's story continues to comfort the crying girl. Hira ends up crying herself to sleep and then Ichigo puts her in her bed before going to sleep in her own

The next morning Ichigo talks to Hira as they get ready "so what do you want to do about two? If what you said is true I'm willing to give him a chance" Hira thinks for a second before replying "I think we need to find a way to convince him he isn't a monster... I don't know how to do that though" as they finish getting ready they head downstairs to find that two hasn't gotten his food. "Hey where's two? His food is still here" Hira asks. "Oh that monster? Apparently he's going somewhere for a mission" as Zorome finishes his sentence nana walks in "finish your breakfast quickly. We have an important mission I need to debrief you all on"

after everyone has their breakfast and sits down in the debriefing room hachi speaks up "this is going to be your most important mission yet. We're going to invading the grand crevasse. This is of major importance so do your best" Ichigo raises her hand to ask a question "yes Ichigo?" Nana says "where is two? He should be here to pilot with Hira" hachi sighs and then speaks "effective as of last night at 17:00 hours, Two along with strelitiza was transported to the nines to spear head the invasion of gran crevasse" most of the squad was happy about this but Ichigo and Hira were upset. Hira spoke up "SERIOUSLY? MAKE HIM COME BACK! HE DOSENT HAVE ME TO BE HIS PISTIL!" Nana sighs and pinches the brow of her nose "they were direct orders from papa. However he did leave a message for all of you" nana plays a projection showing two in a blue and white stamen suit with his scale playing from his skin poking through in some spots. His tail had also gained scales and it moved as he spoke. There was something strange about it though. Two then began to speak in the message "squad 13. As code 002 I am most glad that our time together is up. Fuck you. Each and every one of you. With the exception of code 016 of course. At least she had the decency to see me as more then my klaxasaur like appearance. This is my final message for all of you. I will not be coming back from this mission as I will be going deep into the heart of the klaxasaurs base. This is likely the last I will be able to speak before I loose my ability to speak. Due to this I have a request for code 016, my darling. I would like you to find my true darling. I believe you knew that I had someone else I called darling. Or more accurately they called me darling. I do not remember who they were, what they looked like, what their code was or anything of the sort. I want you to find her and tell I'm truly sorry that we couldn't get married. This code 002 over... and out for the last time" with that the message ended. The entire room was quiet aside from the sobbing of Hira and Ichigo trying to comfort her. Is it too late to save Two from himself? Is he truly a monster now? That is the question on Hira's mind now.
