''Hello and welcome to this unique interview with the world's biggest female pop sensation in the past 20 years; Fifth Harmony.'' Kate, the interviewer starts off while smiling in the camera.
I know I have my public smile on my face, sitting up straight right next to Dinah. We both sit on an elevated platform while Lauren, Normani and Ally sit in front of us. All of us know the drill and know exactly what to do.
''They have announced one big reunion show next week and tonight they have joined me for their first interview as a group since splitting ways 5 years ago. So let's get this party started!'' She says excitedly, making my nerves rise again.
''Ladies, welcome.'' She turns away from the camera and looks at us, we all smile politely and nod.
''First off, let me tell you how excited I am for this show to happen. Your fans have asked for it for a long time, what made you guys decide to do it now?'' She asks, looking at all of us.
I will never speak up first, the girls know this very well, same as Dinah. Ally smiles and moves her hands from clasping together to an open stance, signaling to all of us she'll take the first one, like she has done so many times.
''Well I think the timing just felt right. Of course we've been in touch with each other over the years and talked about it but I think we all just needed time apart to grow. Both as people and as artists you know, learn how to navigate the industry on our own or choose to go out of the spotlight for a while. We were so young when we started that we've barely known anything else than a spotlight. I guess now we all feel that we've had enough time and space to explore on our own to make us fit together better than when we would have done this a few years ago.''
Well done Ally, I nod and smile at her, diverting my eyes back to Kate and most of all making sure not to look at Lauren when she's not talking.
''And explore you did, all of you have put out solo records and even albums, and toured on your own. Camila I would say your solo career has been the biggest of the group, how do you feel being back together with your girls?'' Kate asks, suggesting that my career has been better than anyone else's, which I refuse to confirm.
I smile at her and lean forward a little, feeling the eyes of the girls on me and seeing the green eyes from the lower right looking up at me for a moment before focusing back on Kate. Just like we agreed: no subtle hints of anything going on between us.
''Well I'm very fortunate to have had people loving the music I put out as a solo artist, I think that's the most beautiful part of our fans; they support each and every one of us equally, whether within the group or solo.
And I think I speak for all of us when I say that our solo stuff has been very important to us and has been a vital part of the growth Ally just mentioned. But for me personally there has always been something missing and that something just clicked the second we were all back in the same room again.'' I say, hearing some hums of agreement from the girls around me.
''Definitely girl,'' Dinah says with a grin to which Kate turns to the girl sitting next to me.
''Dinah can you explain the chemistry between you all and how it felt to be in the same space again after so long?'' Kate continues and Dinah shakes her head immediately.
''No I can't.'' she says, taking Kate by surprise as I turn towards my friend.
Dinah smiles after sharing a look with me. ''I don't think I could ever explain what it is between us but it just fits. We've known each other for over 15 years, we grew up together. We've seen each other on our very highs and the really deep lows, that forms an unbreakable bond. It's a connection that only the five of us really know.'' She elaborates and Kate nods.
