Till The End: Chapter 2

          "Miss Westfall! Are you still with us?", Mrs. Novak yells from the front of the class. I jolted awake, "Yeah sorry". People giggle until Mrs. Novak shushes them and continues her lecture. I rub my eyes to wake myself up and I feel my phone buzz in my pocket, its a text from Cass. "Hey Loveeee, hruuuu?". I smile, "Hey Cass! I'm good how are you? Class is almost over so I was wondering if you wanted to meet up". I watch as the text bubbles move up and down waiting for her response. "I'D LOVE TOOOO! Meet at the entrance?" "Sounds good to me, See you soon :D <3" "<3".  I put my phone down and actually started to listen to the lecture.

          "So everyone please get your essays done by midnight tonight, I will start to grade them once I get up". Everyone gets up and starts to leave, once I get up to leave I hear my name, "Miss Westfall, come here for a moment". I grab my things and walk to her desk. She leans on her desk, "Would you like to tell me why you fell asleep in my class today?...again". "Sorry Mrs. Novak, just been a little tired lately". She sighs, "When did you go to sleep last night?". I stay silent for a moment, "4:00am". She stands up straight, "You can't be going to bed that late every night Deanna, you are lucky you are even passing this class" "I guess I'm good at locking in", I grin while she stares and rolls her eyes. She places her hand on my shoulder, "You know I'm always here if you ever need to talk, I am starting to worry". "Trust me, Mrs. N, I'm good, just stayed up a little late". She takes her hand off my shoulder, "Alright Deanna, I believe you. Just please email me if you ever need anything". "Of course". I begin to walk away, "Have a nice rest of your day Deanna, and happy anniversary to you and Cassie". I turn my head around, "Thanks Mrs. N, see you tomorrow!". I walk out of the class and make my way to the entrance of the college. I whip out my phone to text Cass I'm on my way but before I can open her contact, I feel two hands shove my shoulders, making me jump. I quickly turn around to see Jessie laughing at me. "You are SUCH a bitch!" "I know I know". Jessie is one of my college friends. We became friends when we started working at the same car garage together. After a while I invited him over to my place and he quickly became friends with my sister, Samantha. Before I knew it, they started dating. Sam is in her senior year of high school, and Jessie is a freshman in college. Jessie always texts me for answers for his classes since I took the same classes last year, my freshman year. Jessie walks next to me, "Where you heading off to?" "Your moms house". Jessie chuckles and shoves me, "You are so lucky I can stand your behavior. Seriously though, where you heading?". I roll my eyes, "Me and Cass are going to meet up and hang till her class starts" "Awww such cuties". I blush, "Shut up". He laughs, "We have to hang out sometime, Double date! Me and Sam, you and Cass, it would be so fun dude!" "Maybe this weekend, I will have to ask Cass about it" "Yeah Yeahhhh". We make the last corner before the entrance, "I'll text you later about this weekend". Jessie starts to comically skip away, "Coolio!". As I walk away towards the entrance Jessie yells, "I'll be at Sam's place, I might not answer right away". I whip my head around in a speed I have never turned before, "ONE HAND OF HER I SWEAR YOU ARE DEAD JESSIE". Jessie laughs and chuckles, he skips away out the side door. I take out my phone and message Jessie, "Fuck you" " *Fuck your sister* " "YOU ASSHOLE" " " ;] ". I push the front doors open and am quickly greeted by Cass hugging me, "I missed you" "I just saw you this morning". She kisses me on the cheek, "Too long". She grabs my things and puts them in her tote bag and reaches for my hand. Our hands interlock, we begin to walk down the sidewalk towards our dorm. "How was class?" "Fell asleep again". Cass squeezes my hand harder, "Maybe we need to call about your sleeping problems, I can't have my girlfriend falling asleep in class". I look at Cass, "It's just a couple times, just hard sleeping some days". Cass stops walking and grabs my other hand, "Look Deanna, I know it's been hard since you moved here alone with Sam and away from your mom. It's not easy what you went through all those years and I feel like it's time to call someone about these sleeping problems-". I cut her off, "Cass, it's not something I want you to be worried about-" "I am worried! Some days you wake up in tears from another nightmare and another until I can barely comfort you". I pull Cass into a hug, "Ok I'm sorry, I will call Monday I pinky promise. I want to spend today with you, it's our special day. The day I started dating your beautiful face". I cup my hands around her face and kiss her. Cass giggles and grabs my hand again, "You have nothing to be sorry about".

          Cass opens our dorm room and goes to the bathroom, "I'm going to take a quick shower then we can plan where to go to dinner tonight" "Alright Dear, Love you". Cass grabs her towels and walks in the bathroom, "Love you too". I sit down on the bed and open my laptop to try and finish my essay tonight. I open the google doc and stare at the empty page watching the cursor blink waiting for me to type. I go to type and my phone rings, the buzzing echoing around the room, Its Sam. I pick up the phone, setting my laptop down on the nightstand by the bed and lay down. "Hey Sam" "Hey Deanna, whats up?" "Not much, was about to start writing my essay but someone decided to call me" "Oh, my bad, I can go-" "Nah I don't really care, I can finish it later, how is high school going?" "It sucks! Mr. B gave us another fucking math test. WE JUST HAD ONE" "Yeah I always hated his class, I'm surprised I even passed that class" "Honestly me too". I chuckle, "Other than that dumb class, how's life been? Sorry I couldn't visit sooner, college can be a pain in the ass" "Life's been fine, Jessie actually is coming over soon" "I BET he is" "Oh? Sounds like you don't want my boyfriend coming over" "Well DUH, he is actually a perv some days I swear" "Yeah but trust me, he is sweeter when you are not there" "Mhm". I hear Sam move the phone out of her hand and place it on a table, "Actually can I talk to you about something?". I look at the bathroom door, Cass is still in the bathroom, "Um yeah, for sure what you wanna talk about?". Sam hesitates, "So... Mom called me last night". My heart drops, "She what-" "I didn't answer but she texted, she wants to see us" "Hell no!" "I know! But, she's our mom-" "Ok? And? She never was home for us, where was she when you broke your arm on my birthday huh? Oh right, at a boyfriend's house doing who knows what!". Sam interrupts me, "Deanna please, I know I... dislike her too its just that, maybe she just wants to talk and resolve things, close a chapter-". I sit up in bed, "There is no way I am talking to her, it took me forever just to escape to go to Stanford" "Look Deanna, how about I text her and see what exactly she plans on doing for this meet up and I can talk to her, I can say you are busy". I scoff, "Seriously Sammy?". Sam sighs, "Just one call, then I won't talk to her" "Do what you want Sam but I don't ever want to talk to that women ever again". Sam picks her phone up from the table, "I'll let you know what she says ok?" "Alright Sam". The silence echos. "OH! I just remembered, it's you and Cass's one year right?" "Yup" "What do you two plan on doing?". I can tell Sam didn't forget but wanted to change the topic, I went along anyway. "We are not sure yet, after her shower we were gonna talk about it" "Sick, I say go to a fancy FANCY restaurant, bougie". I chuckle, "Yeah we will see". The bathroom door opens and Cass walks out, her towel wrapped around her. She is ruffling her hair with a smaller towel before letting her short hair air dry. "Is that Sam?", Cass runs to me and talks into the phone, "Hey Sam!" "Hey Cass!, how are you?" "Great! Me and Deanna are gonna go somewhere for our anniversary tonight, I'm pretty excited!" "I can tell, we MUST hang out sometime, I miss our little book club". While laughing I say, "You two are such nerds". Sam laughs, "Well you are into nerds soo-". Cass laughs and walks away to grab her clothes. "You actually suck" "Yet you still love me". I roll my eyes, "I gotta go now, go hang out with Jessie but NO TOUCHING NO KISSING NO-" "OK DEANNA, No nothing, just chilling a foot apart" "Perfect". "Bye Deanna" "Bye Sammy". I go to hang up but before i do, "Bitch". Sam scoffs, "Jerk". I hang up.

This was longer but I didn't want to post a whole essay so I shortened it
