VUP 4th EpisodeAt 4:00 AM, Steven was washing up in the bathroom. Suddenly, he noticed a woman staring at him from a distance. He squinted, trying to get a better look, but before he could shout, she vanished, leaving behind an eerie laugh: “Ha! Ha! Ha! He! He! Hu!” A chill ran down Steven's spine, and fear flashed across his face. He involuntarily screamed as loud as he could, quickly covering himself and darting to his dressing room.
Once inside, he crouched down, hiding from his housemates. His hands trembled on the table as he took deep breaths, trying to calm his racing heart.
“Steven! What happened?” Fiona’s voice broke the silence.
“Nothing!” he replied, his voice shaky.
“My suspicions were right. You are definitely losing it, Sico,” Fiona said with a hint of sarcasm before leaving the room. Steven ignored her and quickly threw on a white shirt, blue pants, and a jacket. He caught sight of a bottle of beard oil on the dresser, even though he was clean-shaven.
As he reached for it to toss it aside, he paused, a thought crossing his mind. He rushed after Fiona, taking a few calming breaths before confronting her. “Fiona! What’s this? Did you bring this? I don’t need it! What’s going on with you?”
Fiona didn’t respond; she merely walked into the kitchen. Just then, Victor Alex appeared, grinning. “Happy birthday, Dad! I know this is your 46th birthday!”
“Thank you, my dear son! I’m sorry that we’ve let your birthday slip by without any celebration,” Steven replied, a hint of regret in his voice.
“That was my 12th birthday. My next one is on January 14,” Victor Alex added cheerfully.
“I promise I’ll manage a celebration for your birthday,” Steven assured him.
“Dad! Do you know Mom said we’re going to Grandma and Grandpa's house?” Victor Alex asked, curiosity sparkling in his eyes.
“Why? Why now?” Steven furrowed his brow, concern creeping into his voice.
Fiona re-entered the room, a plate in her hands. “Your breakfast is ready. Go eat it first,” she said curtly.
“I’m talking to Dad! I’ll eat after,” Victor Alex protested, standing his ground.
“I’m telling you for the last time: go and eat, or I’ll find a strong stick to make you listen,” Fiona threatened.
“I’ll break that stick over your back if you try to punish him. You always beat and torment him in the name of discipline. Remember, Victor is my son, and he talks to me first. He’s the biggest piece of my heart!” Steven shot back, anger boiling beneath his calm facade.
“What are you staring at? Get out!” he snapped at Fiona, who had taken Victor Alex’s hand and was dragging him away. She didn’t look back as she left the room, and Steven glanced at his watch before stepping out of the house, the weight of the morning's events heavy on his mind.
