Ava's point of view

I stepped off the bus, the crisp evening air enveloping me like a shawl. I loved this time of day, when the world seemed to pause between reality and magic.

As I walked toward campus, the fading light danced across my face, highlighting the contours of my features. My long, dark hair fluttered behind me like a cloak.

My thoughts drifted to my photography project, due soon. I needed the perfect shot - something that captured the essence of the city's hidden soul.

Suddenly, a flyer caught my eye: "Emerging Artists Gallery Opening". Tonight.

My heart skipped a beat. This could be my chance to discover new inspiration.

Rushing to the gallery, I arrived just as the doors opened. Inside, the air vibrated with creative energy.

That's when I saw him - Elijah Blackwood, standing alone, his eyes fixed on a canvas. I felt an inexplicable pull, as if the shadows themselves were drawing me closer.

Our eyes met, and my world shifted.

"Your photos are breathtaking," he said, his deep voice sending shivers down my spine.

I blushed. "Thanks. Yours too."

We exchanged awkward smiles, and I sensed a connection, like we'd known each other for years. But there was something more, something hidden behind his piercing gaze.

What secrets was he keeping?
