TargetI hung my head low as I walked through the locker room trying remain unnoticed. I quickly grabbed what I needed and started heading towards my first class of the day praying I wouldn't run into Eddie or Kelly.
I made it to class and relaxed as I plunked my stuff down on the table and took a seat. The classroom started to fill up but the seat next to me stayed empty. No one came to sit with me, so I sat alone. I sighed as class started and looked around in envy at all the girls giggling in their friend groups, when I noticed only one other girl also sitting alone. She looked over at me and I gave her a small smile. She quickly looked down at her work pretending to be busy. She seemed maybe a little shy. I decided that maybe I needed to reach out and try to make friends instead of hoping they'll find me.
When class ended I went to the cafeteria for lunch. I scanned the room trying to find somewhere to sit when I noticed the girl from my first class, she was sitting at a table alone. I took a deep breath in and decided I'd try to make friends with her, when suddenly Eddie and Kelly's group went over to her. Oh no.. she's one of them. I thought sadly then turned to sit alone.
I heard snickering then looked back over to see what was going on "why are you eating?" Kelly snorted "leave me alone, it's just my lunch" the girl said quietly as she gripped her sandwich "you've obviously eaten more then enough" Eddie joined in. They were bullying her too. I felt myself start shaking from anger now that I knew they were targeting vulnerable girls and bullying them.
I marched over there and slammed my tray down on the table making everyone stop and look at me "what is your deal?" I shouted "my deal? Your the one that came over here and started shouting" Kelly taunted "no. Your the one that went up to someone and starting acting all tough but your just a scared, sad, pathetic loser because you can't even do it alone. You have to hide behind a group. So how about you stop being a bitch!" I shouted loud enough to have the whole cafeterias attention. Kelly looked around clearly embarrassed before looking at me with fire in her eyes. She screamed out like a banshee before launching herself at me and tackling me to the ground. I was stronger and knew how to fight though. Before long I was on top of her, pulling her hair and punching her face. I'd snapped and I couldn't control myself. I probably wouldn't have stopped if someone didn't pull me off her.
"Enough. Girls, what is going on?" The principle shouted as he kept a grip on my arm. The cafeteria was so quiet you could hear a pin drop "I dont know... she just attacked me. I was just trying to help her-" Kelly started in an innocent voice "no!" I shouted "she tackled me first! I was just defending myself. Shes a bully Mr Dobal!" I said frantically "both of you to my office"
As the principle scolded us I must admit, I was impressed by Kelly's performance. She was doing a great job selling her 'I'm the victim, I'd never do anything wrong act' I sat with my arms folded angrily until the principle sent Kelly out of the room. I watched feeling a little anxious as he pinched the bridge of his nose "I understand it's your second day and this might be overwhelming for you, but under no circumstances do you put your hands on another student" he said calmly as he took a seat. I continued staring at the wall with an angry expression till I realised something "are you going to tell Demi?" I asked. He sighed and thought about it for a minute "I'll have to inform her.. yes" my blood ran cold as I feared about Demi getting a bad report about me on only my second day "Please don't tell her. I'll be good now" I begged "I'm sorry. I'm gonna go get my phone and call her now" he said and left the room.
I started to panic. I was really worried about how Demi would react. She'd be so disappointed. As I panicked, I looked around and saw his open laptop on his desk. I checked to make sure he was gone before quickly searching up my name in his computer. My name came up with all my details and Demi's contact number, I quickly changed the last two digits in her phone number. Feeling relieved, I went and sat back down.
The principle came in and tried her number a few times but no answer "she must be at work" I shrugged. Phew... now Demi won't have to know and she can keep thinking everything's perfect.

I poked at my food as Demi came and sat next to me at the table for dinner "so. How was your first week" Demi smiled taking a bite.
I'd survived my first week in high school and it had been traumatic. I'd come home most days and cry in bed till I fell asleep and Demi would wake me up for dinner "yeah, really good" I smiled "I'm so glad, have you made any friends yet?" She asked "yeah" I lied again "I know it can be tiring and overwhelming, which would explain why after school all you do is sleep" Demi chuckled "but this weekend I was hoping we could hang out and do something" she continued with a big smile. I wanted to do nothing more then to forget about Kelly and spend time with Demi... but I was feeling so low and depressed with all the bullying I was dealing with at school that it was hard to keep a smile on around Demi and it was exhausting "um.. I was kinda hoping to just read this weekend" I said quietly "oh okay. I understand" Demi responded sounding disappointed which just made me feel even more guilty.A/N
