Rose's POV
Right now, I'm headed to Joel's house. Max is driving me, for obvious reasons. When we arrived he was already there to open the front door. He ushered us in and I saw Pat sitting on one of the couches.
"Good afternoon, Rose," she greeted.
"Hey Pat, it's really good to see you again," I greeted back.
"So come sit by me, I made something for you." She patted the spot next to her and I went and plopped down.
She continued, "so I made this bracelet special for you. When it glows, that means you are near a demon, usually within 100 feet. I had to make an exception for Max's blood so it won't glow every time you're near him. Now don't be alarmed, there are many classes of demons and some of them probably will not pay any attention to you, but this is still a good tool for you to have. I also used a special herbal mixture to prevent your magic from being suppressed." I nodded happily.
"Now this is the part where you'll love me. I went above and beyond and made special bracelets for your mates with demon blood to prevent them from being frozen." She smiled, pleased with herself.
"That's fantastic! Thank you so much Pat!" I gave her a huge hug and felt a few tears fall.
"Don't cry girl, I'm happy to do it. You're now a part of my nephew's pack and their luna. Plus we have to make sure no harm comes to these kiddos." She reassured me.
We continued on with small talk, talking about the babies. She estimated that they will be born soon after graduation. "These babies are growing up so fast." Pat exclaimed. You're telling me, I thought.
"Thank you for your assistance, Patricia. These extra bracelets were clever thinking on your part, I'm almost ashamed I didn't think of it myself. I appreciate what you've done for my mate." Joel let her depart on those words. He went back to his couch and plopped down. I left the office and went downstairs to see Sophie beaming.
"Let's go dress shopping!" Sophie squealed in front of me.
"But I'm about to pop! These babies keep growing and I have no idea if a dress I buy today will fit in a week." I whined at her.
"Don't worry about it, we can get someone to adjust it if we need to right before graduation." She waved off my concerns.
I still wasn't convinced but decided to go along with her plans. We arrived to some specialty boutique right in the middle of the city.
"Can we get some coffee first? I'm dying here." I whined at her.
"Ok, ok there's a coffee shop right down the street, let's go there and chill out first."
She grabbed me by the wrist and hauled me down the road to the coffee shop.
*ding, ding* the chime above the door dinged.
We strolled in and walked to the counter.
"Rose?"
I looked to my right and couldn't believe my eyes.
"Garrett?!" I squealed and ran to him to give him a big hug. Wait what is this? He smells like a vampire.
"You're a vampire?" I whisper yelled.
"You're pregnant? And definitely a mix of vampire with something else. When and how did that even happen?" He asked me, seemingly in shock.
"My god we have so much to talk about!" I was getting super excited.
"Ahem" Sophie coughed. Oh damn, she's still here.
I grabbed his arm and pulled him in front of Sophie, "Sophie, this is Garrett! He was my first boyfriend. We dated right before I moved here." I grinned at her. For some reason she looked unamused.
