I felt my throat tightened, my chest hurting like something hard was against it. I gasped for air. Venus suddenly seemed smaller then she was. This wasn't my first call so why was i having one of these attacks?!?
"Deep breaths." That's when i heard Helens smoothing voice as she gently put her hands over mine through the window. "In...out..in...out." I followed her instructions and soon enough i felt my breathing come back to normal. I looked at Helen then realised everyone had watch me. Great.
A few weeks later, the fire station was still getting built but everything looked so different now. I always wondered if this is how my grandma would have wanted it? My grandma was the first person to built this fire station in 1966 just after having my dad and when i heard her story when i was 4 i was like i wanted to work there and here i am now.
I was right now leaving my house in a white dress with white boots and my blue jacket over it. I looked at Pontypandy from my hill and i smiled. She would have wanted this, i know it because i can feel her in me. I started to walk down the hill.
Soon enough, i arrived at the fire station and saw my oldest brother (Peter) wife, Amelia. Amelia was a pretty brown hair tall girl. She owned a flower shop in Newtown and wanted to help out at the fire station. I walked over to her and we hugged. "Hi, honey." She said in her french accent. I smiled and looked at the flowers. "They are so beautiful." I said with a smile and walked off to some of the worker. A lot of them asked me how i was doing and i smiled and said "I was getting better." and i was!
In the afternoon, after helping out i spotted Sam and Elvis going to Jupiter. Must be a new emergency. I went into the Mobile Command Unit and went inside. "Hello?" I said just as i entered and SOS turned his chair. "Penny!" He said with a smile and hugged me before sitting back down. "I guess you came to help again." and i nodded. He smiled and turned back to work while i looked at Elvis guitar and played a small tune on it. Too be honest, everything seems perfect and different in the same way and i know it gonna be like that for a while.
And this is how she would have wanted Pontypandy to be. She's proud of me, of us.
Authors note!
I wanted to dedicated this chapter to my lovely grandma. She had passed away in September ago on my due date. She was very ill her whole life and she was such a strong women for living up to her 70s. She got put into our monthly magazine in my village even tho she never did what Penny grandma did in my book. I still wanted to put my Grandma in here because i knew she would love to be in a book. I miss you lots, Grandma. Love Sophie x
