Shivi called Josh multiple times, but he didn't pick up. She waited all night, and he never came back. How could he come back after what he had seen? The day before at the same time, they were cuddling happily, and now she was left all alone in the same bed. She missed him terribly and wished she could do something to change how he felt right then. It was 5 am, and she still hadn't slept, waiting for at least a text from him, but there was no sign of him. So, she packed all her bags and left for the hotel where Josh was staying.

Within a few minutes, she was outside Josh's room, knocking on the door. He didn't open for five minutes. She used the key card he had given her when they checked into the hotel. The room was dark, cold, and devoid of any light. She turned on the lights and found him sitting on the sofa in a corner. His eyes were red; he must have been awake all night. There was no trace of the happy, charming face she was used to. She ran to him, seeing him in that state, took him in her embrace, and kissed his lips, but there was no response from him. He sat there as if his soul had been burned alive. She shook him, calling his name, but he didn't respond, just gazing at a distant object. She gave up after a few attempts, sat there hugging him for minutes, but he remained motionless, perhaps trying to control the flood of emotions he felt.

Finally, Josh spoke, his voice heavy with emotion, "Shivi, I need some time. Please leave me alone."

Shivi pleaded, "Josh, please hear me out."

Josh repeated, "Please, Shivi, I will meet you in the afternoon for lunch."

"We have our flight in 4 hours. We are heading to some other place, just as you wanted. No more staying in Chennai, and no more random guys coming to see me."

Josh seemed disinterested as he got up and walked over to settle himself in a single-seater sofa. Shivi sighed heavily and went to him, kneeling beside him. He sat silently, still not responding.

Shivi stood up and took a few steps back, still watching him closely as she continued to speak in a shaky tone "Alright, Josh. I'll give you the space you need. I'll wait for you at the airport's boarding counter. If you decide to come, we'll leave as planned. But if you..."

Shivi stuttered, struggling to say the words she didn't want to utter but had to. "Josh, if...if you don't trust me, then I guess I don't have any right to wear the ring you gave me anymore."

Josh's face twisted with anger, and his veins seemed to pulsate with rage as he glowered at her. He strode purposefully toward her, his fingers firmly gripping her forearm. He stared intently at the ring on her finger, then after a moment, he shifted his gaze back to her, his voice gentle yet unwavering.

"This isn't just a ring," he stated firmly. "It's the symbol of the right you've given me, the claim I have on you. I'm not ready to renounce it yet. I simply need some time to process everything. I hope you can comprehend that this isn't easy for me, especially when you mean the world to me."

He turned away from her, unable to continue the conversation in that tone. His frustration was evident. Shivi wiped away the tears streaming down her cheeks and replied, "I want to stay with you, but if you don't want me near you, I don't know what to do. I'm in just as much pain as you are. I hope you understand I'm not doing any of this intentionally."
