"Arey par sun to lete- kyuki mera to boyfriend hai na-" Vaanya looked out for him for a mere second but then her thoughts twisted.

"Bhakk... Akdu Agnihotri kahi ka... Mujhe kya? Mat suno, tumhara hi ghata hai isme bhi," Vaanya shakes her head to disdain Abhir's behavior, walking ahead with her grandma to meet their guests, downright ignoring Abhir's presence.

Meeting all the guests, her father also introduced her to some families that were the investors, sponsors, and also business partners of the 'Birla group of Industries'.

"Dad, that's enough, lemme eat something please— I'm hungry since noon—"

"Okay wait, let's cut the cake then, so you can have dinner, okay?" Mr. Birla suggested, having Vaanya's eyes lit up like a child hearing that she can have food.

Her father tapped on her back with a smile as he went behind the stage to talk to the host to announce for dinner after cake cutting.

Vaanya stood still at her place when on a blink, there was a goofy male standing in front of her with his hand forwarded for a handshake, and an ear to ear idiotic smile decorating his features.

With a weird chuckle of bewilderment, Vaanya shook hands with the guy who introduced himself after bowing a whole upto 90 degrees.

"Hello bhabhi, mai hu apka hone wala devar, Atharva. Or since bhabhi- maa samaan hoti hai, aap mujhe Attu ya tharv, ya jo bhi aap chahein, vo bula sakti hain, mujhe bohot acha lagega,"

Atharva's smile didn't drop rather it seemed to have stretched further.

"O- o- oh- A- Atharva Agnihotri- if I'm not wrong? The akdu-man did tell me about you," Vaanya hesitated to pass a genuine smile to the lad who was the opposite of her.

"You're absolutely not wrong," Vaanya eventually breaks the handshake with the smiley boy who she couldn't give much time talking to as she was called on stage for her cake cutting.

"So we would like Ms. Vaanya Birla and Mr. Abhir Agnihotri on stage for the cake cutting,"

The announcement buzzed in the room and all the guests slowly started to gather under the stage, waiting for the two special people to walk up. Theri families had already gathered on stage, waiting for them.

"Bhabhi aap jaiye, mai bhaiya ko bulata hu..." Atharva like a responsible gentleman, took out his phone immediately when he observed that neither his brother was in the crowd, nor he's here at the back.

"No, don't bother, having that Akdu Aaloo is better than cutting it alone on stage, at least it'll be less stressful and more happier," Vaanya exclaimed causally when her shoulder felt a nudge.

"You sure?" A laden pitched voice flew through her ear that sent her goosebumps down the spine.

On turning behind, she sees it was the person who was called on stage with her.

"Shall we? People are waiting?" Abhir offered his arm, not glancing at her and keeping a straight face, behaving formally.

Something from his behaviour spiked Vaanya that she stomped her foot, carried her dress above an inch from the ground to walk alone but she was schlepped behind with a great force, falling straight at Abhir's chest.

"Mrs. Agnihotri," Abhir breathed. "Suit karta hai tumpe ye attitude, I won't lie,"

Abhir wittingly stressed at 'Mrs. Agnihotri' , knowing Vaanya cannot react much in the party.
