"Vaan why did you leave without telling me—?" Vaanya questioned over the phone a day later after her birthday party when she got to know that Vivaan had already left for college.
"If I hadn't asked my brother to track your phone, I wouldn't even know where you are because you're just so upset to not even text me back even after my 100 calls and messages,"
She expressed the discontent that Vivaan's behavior made her feel.
"You done madam? I'm traveling right now so can I travel in peace?" Vivaan smiled but Vaanya rebuked her best friend.
"No! No you can't unless you answer me. Why did you leave without meeting me? I had a lot to tell you—"
"Whatever you had to tell me, I already saw all that Vaanu. What more was there to tell than you're getting married the next day after you return home?" Vivaan's sneering words hit straight at Vaanya's chest that she fell on her bed with a thud, face giving the vibes of anger and gloom together.
"There was more to tell..." Vaanya revealed with tensed, upset eyebrows at which Vivaan sighed with a smile, motioning her to go ahead but her frown didn't leave.
"I wanted to ask if you could marry me?" She asked such a question with the same frowning face as if it's not a big deal.
Vivaan took his time to respond to her as he went completely numb for a minute because he couldn't even react in a public transport.
"You realize that I can't scream right now at you, right?" So he smiled instead at which Vaanya's expressions worsened.
"Why would you shout at me if I'm asking you to marry me? And not a real marriage- just to buy some time for myself so I can escape from this wedding with Abhir right now-"
"Right now?" Vivaan interrupted with a suspicious eyebrow lift.
"Means... You can get married to him later on but not right now?" He queried, giving her detective vibes, annoying her further that led her to hide her face into her pillow.
"You know what- just leave it. I'll tell Abhir by myself that I love you and then he'll himself cancel this wedding, yeah. Bye. You're so useless."
And she hung up, feeling frustrated at the very conversation between her and her best friend when her phone buzzed again.
Picking it up with irritated curves of her face, she suddenly jerked to sit back on the bed when she saw Abhir's name being displayed on the screen, making her reminisce about 2 days ago when he promised her that he'll call her when he gets back home.
"He really called? OMG! No but- I can't pick up- what will I talk about? Moreover this stupid Vivaan just ruined my mood so I can't talk to him anymore,"
And Vaanya waited till her phone stopped buzzing by itself.
Her parents already told her that within 15 days, the buildings that were under construction for her and Kartik will be ready, so they'll have an inauguration for both the siblings where the Agnihotri's will be invited and then they'll discuss about their wedding thereafter.
"So I only have 15 days to execute my plan on Abhir? Great. I've enough time to convince that stupid Vaan to act like he's in love with me so we can dodge this marriage for some time, and in the meanwhile, I'll prepare everything to go abroad to do my masters and yes! No marriage, no Abhir. Sounds perfect!"
Vaanya was thrilled to execute her plan as she was successful in convincing Vivaan to help her get rid of this marriage thing.
However, in these past 10 to 15 days, Abhir tried a lot to contact her because when he said he'll call her, he didn't just mean that he'll call her and leave if she doesn't pick up. By calling her he meant to talk to her, and he couldn't sit still till he tried at least 100 times to contact her but she didn't receive a single call of his.
