Title: Tears im my Itafushi eyes: Pt2

The moonlight filtered softly through the trees, casting long shadows over the empty training grounds at Jujutsu High. The evening was quiet, with only the sound of distant chirping crickets and the rustling of leaves in the breeze.

Yuji Itadori wiped the sweat from his forehead, his shirt clinging to his body after hours of training. He'd spent the last few hours sparring with Megumi Fushiguro, each of them pushing the other to their limits. It had been intense—full of raw power, lightning-fast movements, and occasional moments where their hands would brush together by accident—but now that the fight was over, the air between them felt… different.

Yuji glanced at Megumi, who was sitting cross-legged on the ground, his back against a tree. The dark-haired sorcerer was still catching his breath, but his usual stoic expression was replaced by something softer. Yuji had always felt like there was more to Megumi than the calm, collected exterior he showed the world, but it had become even more apparent over the past few months—especially when they spent time like this, just the two of them.

"Man, you really don’t make things easy," Yuji said with a grin, breaking the silence as he plopped down next to Megumi, his legs stretching out lazily.

Megumi didn’t respond right away, but Yuji could feel his presence beside him—his warmth, the subtle shift in the air when they were close. After a few seconds, Megumi exhaled, still a little winded.

"You could be a little less reckless, you know," Megumi said, though his voice wasn’t as harsh as usual. There was an odd softness to it, like he was… worried? Or was he just tired?

Yuji chuckled, nudging his friend with his elbow. "If I didn’t keep things interesting, I’d probably bore you to death."

Megumi glanced at him, his dark blue eyes meeting Yuji’s with an unreadable expression. "I don’t think you could ever bore me."

Yuji's heart skipped a beat. The words were so simple, but the way Megumi said them—quiet, unassuming—made something shift inside of him. He felt his chest tighten, and for a moment, he was glad the dim light masked the slight blush creeping up his neck.

"You sure about that?" Yuji asked, trying to sound playful, but his voice came out a little softer than intended.

Megumi raised an eyebrow, his lips curving into a rare, almost a unnoticeable smirk. "I don’t get bored easily."

"Good," Yuji replied quickly, clearing his throat. "I wouldn’t want to be the one to test that."

There was a beat of silence, the only sound being the occasional rustling of the wind. Yuji couldn’t shake the feeling that something was hanging between them, unspoken. It was strange, how they had always been there for each other—fighting together, supporting each other during the hardest of times. But lately, Yuji had felt… different. It wasn’t just the usual friendship, the friendship they shared. There was something deeper, something that he couldn’t name.

He glanced over at Megumi again. The way Megumi’s gaze lingered on him, the way his jaw tightened slightly when Yuji came too close, as if he wasn’t sure what to do with the feelings rising between them. Yuji was starting to realize that maybe Megumi felt it, too.

"Hey, Megumi..." Yuji started, his voice softer now, unsure of how to continue.

"Hm?" Megumi responded, his voice low and focused as he looked at him.

Yuji hesitated, his fingers fidgeting with the hem of his shirt. He had never been good with feelings—not with words anyway—but when it came to Megumi, he found it hard to lie, even to himself. "Do you ever wonder what it would be like… if we weren’t just friends?" he asked quietly.

The question hung in the air, and Yuji immediately felt a wave of uncertainty. Why had he said that? Was he pushing things too far? Was he overthinking it?

But Megumi didn’t seem startled or angry. Instead, he just stared at Yuji for a long moment, his face unreadable. Yuji’s heart pounded in his chest, the tension between them almost palpable.

"I don’t know," Megumi finally said, his voice quieter than usual. "I’ve never really thought about it." He paused, his eyes narrowing slightly as if he was weighing his words. "But I guess… sometimes, I think about us being together, in a way that’s not just teammates."

Yuji blinked, the words hitting him like a wave. He turned his head to look at Megumi, surprised by the honesty in his voice. "Wait… you do?" he asked, almost too stunned to speak. His mind raced as he tried to process it. Megumi… felt the same way?

Megumi’s gaze softened, and for the first time in ages, Yuji saw something vulnerable in his eyes—a hint of something that Megumi rarely showed to anyone. "Yeah," Megumi admitted quietly. "Maybe it’s just easier when I’m with you. You’ve always been… different from everyone else."

Yuji felt his chest tighten at the words, a strange warmth spreading through him. He had always known that Megumi was special—more than just a teammate, more than a friend—but hearing him admit it out loud made his heart swell. It was like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders, and suddenly everything felt right.

"You don’t have to say anything," Megumi added quickly, his gaze shifting away, the rare vulnerability fading. "I just… didn’t want you to think I was… weird or something."

Yuji shook his head, his hand moving to rest on Megumi’s arm. "No. It’s not weird. I’ve felt the same way for a while now." He felt a rush of honesty bubbling up, his heart pounding in his chest as he added, "I think about it all the time—about you."

Megumi’s eyes flickered toward Yuji, and for a brief moment, the world seemed to slow down. Then, without warning, Megumi leaned in slightly, closing the gap between them, his breath warm against Yuji’s skin. The space between them had never felt so charged, and Yuji’s heart raced in his chest.

"Yuji," Megumi murmured, his voice so soft that it was almost a whisper. "I don’t know what this means, but… I think we’ve always been more than just friends."

Yuji’s heart was hammering now, louder than ever. He leaned forward, driven by a surge of emotions he couldn’t hold back any longer. He didn’t hesitate, not this time. Not with Megumi.

Their lips met in a slow, hesitant kiss—tentative at first, like they were both testing the waters. But soon the kiss deepened, a quiet urgency taking over them, and all of the unspoken words, the feelings they had kept hidden for so long, were finally released in that simple moment.

When they pulled away, the world seemed to hold its breath, and Yuji couldn’t help the goofy grin that spread across his face. Megumi’s face was flushed, his lips slightly swollen, but there was a softness in his eyes that Yuji had never seen before.

"That wasn’t so bad, was it?" Yuji said, his voice teasing but full of warmth.

Megumi smirked, the usual sarcastic edge returning to his voice. "No, I guess not. You’re not as terrible as I thought."

Yuji chuckled, leaning in again, this time with more certainty. "Good," he said, and kissed him once more, this time without hesitation.

And in that quiet moment, beneath the stars and the moon, everything felt right.
