The days passed, and Ellie couldn’t shake the feeling that the house was getting to her. Each room she entered seemed to be more oppressive than the last. The air itself felt heavy, like the house was holding its breath.

One evening, as she was exploring the vast library, she discovered a series of journals—old, yellowing pages that chronicled the Blackwood family history. She began to read.

The journals were filled with disturbing accounts of death, tragedy, and strange occurrences. Victims of the house, each one seemingly cursed. The first journal spoke of a young man who had disappeared in the 1800s after spending a single night in the east wing. Another spoke of a woman who had taken her own life in the very room Ellie was staying in.

But it was the last entry that chilled her to the bone: "The shadows are real. They are the souls of those who came before us, and they won’t rest until they claim us all."

Ellie couldn’t put the journal down. Each entry was more terrifying than the last. The last Blackwood heir had written that the house itself was cursed, and that everyone who entered would eventually fall under its influence, trapped by the shadows that roamed the halls.

Suddenly, a voice interrupted her thoughts.

"Don’t trust the journals," Mrs. Walker’s voice was soft, almost pleading. “Some stories are meant to remain buried.”

But Ellie couldn’t stop. The pieces were starting to fall into place. The whispers. The shadows. The dark history that had plagued this house for generations. She had to know more.
