After their heartfelt confession, neither Hikaru nor Suisei felt ready to let go. The weight of their words still hung in the air, but it was the silence between them now that seemed to say everything. They walked side by side through the winding streets, the evening quiet save for the soft rustling of leaves in the breeze. There was no need for conversation—no urgency to fill the space with words. The simple presence of the other was enough.

Hikaru, feeling the pull of something familiar yet completely new, led Suisei through the labyrinth of narrow alleys, their steps in sync, like an unspoken rhythm they had already learned to share. After a while, he turned down a small, inconspicuous path, one that had become a haven for him as a child. He hadn't visited in years, but something about tonight made it the perfect place to bring her. The park was tucked away, hidden from the bustle of the city—a secret oasis. The trees, heavy with age, formed a protective canopy overhead, their branches dipping low to create a natural arch, casting shadows and playing with the silver moonlight.

As they wandered deeper into the park, the air grew cooler, carrying the sweet scent of blossoms and damp earth. They passed by bushes laden with night-blooming flowers, their petals glowing faintly in the dim light. Hikaru guided her along the winding paths, their footsteps muffled by the soft carpet of fallen leaves. They didn't speak, but in each glance, each subtle gesture, they seemed to communicate everything they needed to say. The world around them was still, like time had slowed to give them this moment.

Eventually, Hikaru led her to a bench beneath a tangle of ivy and twinkling fairy lights that had been strung up like stars across the branches. The soft glow of the lights bathed the space in a warm, almost magical aura. It felt as though the park itself had been waiting for them, patiently holding space for this fragile, beautiful connection to blossom.

They sat, close but not touching, at first. Suisei leaned back against the cool wood, her eyes tracing the stars overhead as Hikaru glanced around the park, feeling a sense of peace he hadn't known in years. The stillness wrapped around them like a protective cocoon, and Hikaru couldn't help but feel a quiet thrill at how natural it all felt, like the universe had conspired to bring them here, to this moment.

Suisei shifted slightly, settling her head on his shoulder. She sighed softly, a contented sound that filled the quiet. It was a simple act, yet it spoke volumes to Hikaru. He wrapped his arm around her, pulling her closer, marveling at how easy it was to hold her, how right it felt. There was no rush, no need to speak. They simply existed together in the stillness, the warm flicker of the lights above creating a soft glow on their faces.

After a while, Hikaru broke the silence. He chuckled softly as he recalled a mischievous memory from his childhood. "There was this one time when Hyuga and I got caught sneaking out at midnight to practice," he said, his voice low, as though sharing a secret. "We thought we were being so stealthy, but my mom heard us and came charging out with a slipper." He grinned, remembering how they'd barely escaped the scolding, running off with a mix of excitement and fear. Suisei laughed, the sound light and melodic, her eyes dancing with amusement. The moment felt as though time had folded in on itself, each of them connecting not just as the people they were now, but as the people they had always been.

As the laughter subsided, Suisei smiled to herself, her gaze distant for a moment. Then she turned to him, her eyes glinting with a story of her own. "I was in my first ballet recital when I tripped during a performance," she said with a playful tilt to her voice. "I was supposed to do a grand pirouette, but instead, I lost my balance and fell flat on my face. The audience gasped, but I—I don't know what came over me, Hikaru, but I just rolled with it. I turned the fall into a kind of improvised dance, like it was part of the performance." She paused, a soft laugh escaping her lips as she recalled the scene. "I didn't think I'd ever live it down. But then the audience started clapping, and for a moment, I thought they believed it was intentional."
