It had been a week since they arrived in Wano, and things had started to settle. Sanji had apologized to everyone for his actions during his darkest moments, but his friends had quickly forgiven him. They were family after all. The Straw Hats had even thrown a massive celebration to mark their time on the island. It had been full of food, laughter, and music, but there was one thing Sanji couldn't join in on—drinking and smoking. His pregnancy made it impossible, and it had left him feeling frustrated and grumpy.
Now, as the sun rose the morning after the party, Sanji sat on the backside deck, his legs crossed in front of him. His eyes were locked on Zoro, who was leaning lazily against the railing, apparently asleep, though Sanji knew better. His mind, kept drifting to the early morning incident with Zoro.
It had started like any other morning—rushed, with Sanji trying to get dressed, but as always, Zoro was in his own world, clumsy and impatient. In his eagerness to get Sanji's attention, Zoro had grabbed him too roughly, and before Sanji could protest, Zoro's hand tugged on his shirt. The buttons popped off with a snap, leaving Sanji's chest exposed.
"Dammit, Zoro!" Sanji had yelped, flailing in surprise. He instinctively swiped at Zoro with a hard smack to the chest. The force made Zoro stumble back, blinking in shock as he realized what had happened.
"Shit! I didn't mean to—" Zoro started, but Sanji cut him off, glaring at him with fiery eyes."Be more careful, you damn idiot! I'm not some toy for you to rip apart!"
Zoro scratched the back of his head sheepishly, a deep frown on his face. "I didn't mean to do it like that, but you know how I get when I'm in a rush. You're fine, right?"
Sanji's annoyance hadn't simmered down, but he didn't have the energy to argue further. He was more worried about the baby than anything else.
"Just don't do it again, or I'll—" Sanji muttered, still fuming as he tried to button up his shirt.
Now, as the day went on, Sanji's irritation hadn't really faded. Every time he looked at Zoro, his anger flared up again. Zoro had tried to make amends, apologizing with the usual casual attitude, but Sanji couldn't just brush it off.
Finally, after hours of quietly simmering, Sanji had had enough. He wasn't going to keep his frustration bottled up, especially since he couldn't drink or smoke. So, he grabbed a crumpled piece of paper from the deck, rolled it up into a bat shape, and ....
Whap!
Zoro had been minding his own business, leaning against the railing of the deck, when he suddenly felt the sting of the paper bat on his head. "Ow! What the hell, cook?" he growled, turning to look at Sanji.
Sanji didn't even glance up. He swung the bat again, hitting Zoro's head with a little more force this time.
Whap!
"You tore my shirt!" Sanji muttered, his irritation flaring. "How could you be so careless?!"
Zoro rubbed his head, looking utterly confused as Sanji smacked him again.
Whap!"Damn it, stop that!" Zoro barked, reaching up to grab the bat, but Sanji pulled it out of his reach, continuing to swing at him.
"You deserve it!" Sanji huffed, his voice tinged with frustration. "I have no way of letting out all this anger, so you're my target today, Zoro!"
Whap!
The paper bat connected again, this time on Zoro's shoulder. Zoro winced but couldn't help but chuckle, even though he was clearly irritated.
Whap!
Another hit to Zoro's head, but this time Zoro grabbed the paper bat mid-air. Sanji was taken off guard by the sudden movement, and before he could react, Zoro yanked the bat from his hands.
