chapter three

Scaramouche strided quickly to the café hoping he wouldn't be late. Another thing to add to his list of things of hating was being late. At least today the weather was a lot better. The sun shined brightly yet the cold september air still hung around.
When Scaramouche finally entered the café he saw Childe leaving.

"just on time, your shift starts in five" He said as he walked past the shorter boy

"yeah I know that" Scaramouche responded

Shirabu walked round to the back to put his stuff away and get ready. When he walked to the back he immediately recognised a familiar tall male.

"Thoma!?" he exclaimed shocked

Thoma turned around with a massive smile.

"I haven't seen you in ages" He exclaimed taking a step closer

Thoma was the shooting guard in the old Basketball team, he was in the year under Scaramouche. He was also close friends to a boy named Gorou and Kazuha which explained a bit better why Kazuha would visit since they were best friends.

"I didn't know that you also worked here" Scaramouche said

"isn't it crazy that me, Childe, Hu Tao and now you all work here!" he pointed out

"yeah its really strange, Lumine agrees"

"ohh Lumine" Thoma replied "I haven't seen her in ages"

"she's my roommate" 

"ohh how exciting"

Thoma glanced down at his wrist to look at his watch to check the time.

"ah we better get to working" he said "I'll go ahead, you get ready"

and with that be walked through the doors that led back out to the café.

"I must have taken Thoma's usual shift yesterday that's why I saw Kazuha" Scaramouche mumbled to himself "well hopefully when he works out Thoma's new schedule he won't bother me right?"

"though Thoma is working now, does that mean I'll see him?" He muttered "no Thoma was working at the last shift as well, he probably visited then"

After getting ready Scaramouche walked to the cash register where Thoma was standing.

"you don't mind helping me make order and delivering them do you?" he asked

"no I don't mind" the other replied

At one o'clock the shop reached it's peak business. There were so many orders to the point that the pair were just mindlessly working and just straight up confused on who ordered what and it was awful. Another thing Scaramouche hated was crowds of people.

"how come more people don't take this shift" Scaramouche questioned whilst he had a spare minute

"no one else can take this shift" Thoma replied "normally it isn't this busy anyways, todays just a one off I suppose"

"oh makes sense"

Scaramouche picked up tray after tray taking them to different tables. He picked up one with a singular coffee on and walked over. The table was hidden in the corner next to the front windows. He put down the tray looking up to acknowledge the person who was sat there but to his surprise he once again was met with a familiar face.

"Scaramouche?"

"Gorou" Scaramouche responded, as equally as surprised as the other was

"We haven't spoken in a while" he said "how is college?"

"It's alright, I went to Sumeru for my first year actually" Scaramouche explained "but I'm starting a college around here tomorrow"

"oh same, I'm looking forward to it!" Gorou replied
