Instead of finding Cheng, I run into Wen. He is holding what looks like multiple plates in his hands, carrying them in the clay tablets turned into trays. That somehow calms me down and brings me back to reality.
I need to remember that if they hadn't brought me here, I would be already dead. I try to keep in mind that. Not only that, I will make sure to live this life to the fullest. Like it's my last day, every day.
The rest of the prophecy... It sounded weird to me. Did it mean that I will have kids here? Multiple marriages too? Somehow? Multiple races... I just joined the Panda tribe. How can that be possible?
Could they cross the mountains? I only know about two more races; are there more? Somehow, that does not take over my thoughts. It's the fact that I was handpicked somehow, plucked from earth.
Could they do that more times? Or was it just me... I think that it's an exaggeration. Maybe she can see the future somehow, and I just fell into a wormhole. Some type of space and time travel.
I'm trying to give it some sort of scientific explanation, like I somehow became an astrophysicist overnight. That's insane; let's focus on the important part.
I'll have to survive here, no matter what. I already lost my previous life. There is no going back. Now or ever. I won't just survive; I will thrive. I am convinced of that.
For now, I will just repress my thoughts; I will act as if nothing happened. Besides, could I even do something? If a strange and supernatural force brought me here somehow, what was I supposed to do? Fight it?
Wen snaps his fingers in front of my face, and I snap out of it. I consider what to say before speaking to not sound suspicious or give away any information about that I've just heard. For now, it's just me that knows about this. Let's keep it that way.
"Hmmm... I was thinking of everything that I need to ask you for tomorrow. If it's not much to ask, could you take me to Cheng's tent?" I grasped for air, feeling the anxiety rise up. "We have a lot to discuss.
"To begin with, I'm going to need the tablets to explain it to you." I look at his hands and say, "Are they ready to be used?"
"Yes, yes they are." He replies, then points with his head and says. "Right this way, miss."
We walk for a bit in silence, until he asks what we are making. I tell him all about our idea to regrow herbs and how to extract salt from the ocean. I try to explain to him the things that we are going to be needing for that and how to make them.
He clearly does not understand. I will have to explain it with drawings, never mind. He does tell me that he thinks that it's going to take us all day tomorrow and the whole day after. Maybe we will have to wait a couple of days to get the desired results.
We will need to go to the creek to gather clay, as this project is too big to do it in one day and with the materials that he has in stock.
"We are going to go down the river. We will need to prepare; I want to gather a lot of clay then. We can make many things from it. It's too useful right now."
"Okay then, we can go and see how much there is. We will find other spots if this one runs out." He says, looking at me, "I'll prepare large bags so that we can carry everything."
"Perfect. I made a good choice when I counted on you then." I smile at him, and he reacts by blushing.
We reach Cheng's tent; well, I guess that it's ours now, huh. The first time I sleep next to someone, and it's in this situation. Outside, he has a couple of seats. I sit down and point at my side for Wen to sit.
