"Yuri, are you guys in your room?"
"Yeah. You okay? Nobody's hurt, right?"
"Jae twisted her ankle a bit. We're all a bit scared... can we come to your room?"
"Sure, come on over. It's a crazy night anyway, who cares?"
The girls arrived at our room where I, Kai, and Hoon were still gathered, struggling to shake off the shock lingering even after a hot shower.
Jae and Da-yeon looked at least two years apart. Compared to Jae, who didn't look or act like an adult at all, Da-yeon was mature in every way.
If a dorm supervisor walks in and catches us guys and girls in the same room, we'd be drowning in penalties. But tonight, even the seniors must be busy dealing with the chaos from the Black & White party.
"Jeez, what a pigsty. Don't you guys ever clean?" Da-yeon and Jae said as they settled in and unpacked some late-night snacks in the middle of the room.
"Lock the door tight when you come in, just in case we get caught. Chang is the only neat freak among us... speaking of which, where the hell did he go?" Kai said.
"Mina's missing too! I lost her hand in all that chaos... You don't think the Red Girl took both Chang and Mina, do you?"
Jae, who's scared of about 90% of things on Earth, asked with wide eyes.
"Knowing Chang, he's probably helping out the seniors. Mina's probably back in her room. Anyway, since we're all here, let's have another drink and try to make sense of what happened."
Kai got up and poured Baileys into paper cups, passing them around.
Drinking in the dorms is against the rules, but we've got booze stashed all over the room like a bunch of bootleggers.
Everyone took a sip, and the sweet, gooey liquid seemed to calm us down a bit.
"Let's go over this step by step. If I remember right, it was almost midnight. Yuri and I were just about to approach the famous Jisoo Shin."
Kai, apparently embarrassed, suddenly dragged me into it. He was the one interested in Jisoo Shin. I was suddenly lumped up as a part of Kai's gang.
"Who knew that elusive Jisoo Shin would show up at the party? It was my first time seeing her in person too, and man, the rumors were true – she's insanely pretty. I thought she was an actress or something!"
Hoon said, gulping down his drink. He was chugging alcohol like it was milk, his huge muscles flexing.
Hoon often wore basketball jerseys to show off his brawny arms, looking like Hercules.
"Oh, come on, you guys! The whole dorm's turned upside down and you're talking about her?" Da-yeon yelled as all our conversations led back to girls.
"Okay, okay. Haha. Anyway, Yuri and I were pushing through the dancing crowd to get to her, but she suddenly left the party. I thought it was perfect timing and was about to follow her out."
"That's when the blackout hit, right? All the lights and music cut out at once, and the party hall was plunged into pitch-black darkness."
"Up until then, I thought it was just part of the event!" Jae said, huddling up and making herself as small as possible.
"Then water started pouring from the ceiling. And as if a flash grenade had gone off, all the lights suddenly came back on and..." Kai grimaced for a moment before continuing.
"The water pouring from the ceiling was as red as blood! Weren't you all in total panic?"
"Ugh, don't remind me. That's not all. You might not have seen it, but on the big screen on the main stage, the words 'The Apparition Comes' appeared in bright red letters."
