The excitement of the proposal had settled into a warm, glowing happiness, but with that joy came the realization of what lay ahead—wedding planning. As much as Y/N and Dazai wanted to keep things simple, they quickly realized that a wedding required a lot more than just showing up in a nice outfit and saying "I do."

"So," Dazai began as he and Y/N sat at the kitchen table in their apartment, a notebook open in front of them. "How do we feel about eloping? Maybe running off to a remote island? No guests, no planning, no stress..."

Y/N laughed, shaking her head. "As tempting as that sounds, I think we owe it to everyone to have an actual wedding. Besides, we have Chuuya as your man of honor, and I'm sure he wouldn't miss the chance to scold you at the altar."

Dazai sighed dramatically, resting his chin in his hand. "You're right. I suppose running off into the sunset isn't an option. Fine, let's do this 'wedding planning' thing. But you're leading the charge."

Y/N chuckled, looking at the blank page in front of them. "Alright, first things first... the venue. Do we want something indoors or outdoors?"

Dazai hummed, tapping his fingers on the table. "I don't want anything too grand. Somewhere intimate, something meaningful. Maybe the place where we had our first real date?"

Y/N's eyes softened at the suggestion. It was a small, cozy restaurant by the sea, with a perfect view of the sunset. The memory of that night warmed her heart, and she could see why Dazai would suggest it.

"That could be beautiful," she agreed, scribbling the idea down in the notebook. "But we'll need to check if they host weddings."

"Leave that to me," Dazai grinned, his eyes gleaming mischievously. "I have my ways of convincing people."

Y/N smirked, knowing full well that meant Dazai would somehow charm or manipulate his way into securing the venue. "Alright, venue's on you. Next... guests. How many people are we inviting?"

Dazai groaned, leaning back in his chair. "Do we have to invite everyone? Can't we just make it a secret wedding?"

Y/N laughed again, playfully nudging him. "You know that won't fly. We have friends, Dazai. Besides, Atsushi, Kyouka, and the rest of the agency would never forgive us if we left them out."

"Fine, fine," Dazai relented, waving a hand. "Let's keep it small, though. Close friends, family—well, chosen family. No Mori."

Y/N couldn't help but smile at that. "Agreed. No Mori."

As they started listing people they'd want to invite, the list grew surprisingly fast. Atsushi, Kyouka, Yosano, Ranpo, Kunikida (though he'd be insufferably strict about wedding etiquette), the president, Chuuya, of course, and even some of the Port Mafia members who had become allies over time. The line between work, friendship, and rivalry had blurred so much that Y/N realized they had quite a large circle of people who cared about them.

"Who knew we had so many friends?" Dazai mused, glancing at the list. "Guess we're more popular than we thought."

Y/N smirked. "Popular or just surrounded by people who can't help but get dragged into our chaos?"

"Same thing," Dazai replied with a wink.

Once they had the guest list roughly sorted, they moved on to the next item on the agenda: the wedding attire.

"Are you going traditional with a tux?" Y/N asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Hmm," Dazai tapped his chin thoughtfully. "I could. But then again, I could also show up in something more dramatic. Perhaps a long cape? Something villainous?"

"Dazai!" Y/N laughed, imagining him swishing around in a cape at the altar. "No capes! Please!"

Dazai sighed in mock defeat. "Alright, no capes. But I will go for a classic tuxedo. I'll look dashing, you'll be swept off your feet, and Chuuya will be disgusted with how good I look."

"That sounds about right," Y/N teased, jotting down 'tuxedo for Dazai' in the notebook.

As for her dress, Y/N hadn't given it much thought yet. "I'm not sure about the dress. I don't want anything too flashy, but I want it to be special."

"Well, you'll look stunning no matter what you wear," Dazai said with a soft smile. "But if you want my opinion, something simple and elegant suits you best. Something that reflects who you are."

Y/N's heart fluttered at his words, her cheeks warming. "You're such a sap sometimes, you know that?"

"Only for you," Dazai replied with a grin, leaning over to steal a kiss.

They continued going through the list of wedding details—flowers, music, and decorations. Y/N leaned toward a minimalist style, preferring soft colors and delicate arrangements. They both agreed on having a live band for the reception, maybe something jazz-inspired to keep the atmosphere lively but romantic.

The cake was another decision that surprisingly took longer than expected. Y/N had a soft spot for strawberry cake, while Dazai, naturally, argued for something a little less traditional. In the end, they compromised on a tiered cake with different flavors—strawberry for Y/N, chocolate for Dazai, and vanilla as a safe option for everyone else.

"And what about a theme?" Y/N asked, doodling small hearts and flowers on the corner of the notebook.

Dazai leaned in, his eyes twinkling. "A theme, huh? How about... 'Surviving Dazai's Schemes'?"

Y/N rolled her eyes, though she couldn't help but laugh. "How about something more romantic? Maybe something to do with stars? Like, 'Under the Stars' or 'A Night of Stars'? It feels symbolic after everything we've been through."

Dazai's expression softened as he reached out to hold Y/N's hand. "I like that. Stars it is."

With that, the major details of the wedding were mostly figured out—though they still had a lot of smaller decisions to make. Y/N had a feeling there'd be plenty of chaos along the way, especially with Dazai involved, but as she looked across the table at him, she realized something important.

No matter how wild the wedding planning got, no matter how stressful it might be, it didn't matter. In the end, what mattered most was the two of them, their journey together, and the fact that they had chosen each other.

And with that in mind, Y/N smiled, knowing that their wedding, like their relationship, would be one for the books.
