The case had taken a grotesque turn. Max Henderson and Cody Turner were the first victims, but they were not the last. And now, as the town of Oak Ridge spiraled further into chaos, Carter was beginning to piece together the most horrifying realization: the killer wasn't just a stranger. The killer was someone they all knew.

The final body had been discovered just outside Oak Ridge, near an abandoned farm on the outskirts of town. It was Cody's father, Brad Turner. He had been found in a ditch, his body cold, lifeless, and contorted as if in pain. There were no immediate signs of struggle, no bloodshed like the others. It was as though he had been discarded, the final pawn taken off the board.

When Carter arrived at the crime scene, he found Sheriff Meadows and a few other officers already combing through the area. Brad's body lay in the shallow ditch, his eyes wide open, his face twisted in fear. But what struck Carter most was the note that had been left with him, the same symbol—a circle with an eye at the center—etched into the paper.

The note read:
"The final move is here. Now, it's your turn to play, Detective."

Carter's blood ran cold as he crouched beside the body. He had been drawn into the game, but now the stakes were higher than ever. His mind raced through the recent events—the bodies, the notes, the cryptic messages. Everything was leading him toward a singular conclusion. The killer was playing a game of his own, and Carter was the ultimate target.
