Escape

Praachi's eyes widened in horror and shock. Their only hope lay on the floor clutching a coat of blood. From the corner of her hiding place, she saw the woman come back, training the gun on Haseena.

Haseena's hand flared in pain, the bullet lodged tightly in the flesh. She saw the woman standing over her, gun in her hand pointing directly at her chest. She had a satisfied smirk on her face. The woman took a minute longer than necessary.

Haseena swept her legs and tumbled the woman to the floor. Her gun went scattering across while she fell on top of Haseena.

Haseena pushed her out of the way and quickly stood up, her own gun lost in the scramble.

Before the woman could get up, Haseena knocked her down again. She went tumbling through a box of crates.

Out of the corner, she noted that Praachi had picked up the gun. She signaled her to stay hidden and silent.

The woman slowly got up, hatred burning in her eyes. She advanced and landed a solid punch to Haseena's stomach.

Haseena was thrown away, the wind knocked out of her.

She got back up and caught the advancing figure right on her ribs. Before the woman had time to react, Haseena punched her again. She fell down with a satisfied thud. Unconscious.

Haseena found her gun and pocketed it while exhaling deep breaths. She looked around for something to tie her down and found coils of rope.

Haseena tightly bound her legs and arms, tearing a strip of clothing to gag her. She buried her under a pile of boxes and crates.

She left to check on the girls. The wounded girl stood on the floor, her eyes open, staring at Haseena. She looked at the girl once more before turning away and leading the girls to the safe house.

They reached the safe house without much trouble. Her informant had done well. On the outside, it looked abandoned and dilapidated but the inside was stocked with everything they needed.

Haseena took the girls in, closing the door behind her. It locked with a satisfying click. She sank down to the floor, exhaustion kicking in. Praachi knelt before her and checked her wound. She quickly fished out a med kit and patched up the wound.

Haseena nodded her thanks. They were silent.

"What's the plan?" Praachi asked.

Haseena stayed silent. She didn't have a plan on how to proceed further. She wanted to call the police station of Kanpur but was aware of the corrupt police officials. Instead, she phoned her trustworthy informant and sent him a coded message.

Within minutes, the place was swarming with police officials. Haseena stepped outside, leaving the girls, identified herself and lead the police force inside the warehouse to catch the criminals.

They stormed to the building and thrashed down the door. They were surrounded and had nowhere to run. Still, the men opened fire in retaliation, taking down a few officers.

Haseena left the stage in search of Rahim Bhai and his partner. She had another officer with him.

They found Rahim and his partner locked in a room desperately destroying evidence. Haseena shot down the door, forcing her way in. She had a deep hatred in her eyes. She knew that she had won the battle.

She trained the gun on them and asked them to surrender. The men were silent. Haseena noted a smirk on the face of the corrupt police officer. It was too late. The officer next to her trained his gun on her.
