The following days. During break time, I ate with Markcris while walking in the hallway.  I can still hear in my two ears the various whispers of the students about me, but my friend entertains me with his nonsense stories just so I don't pay attention to what others gossiping.

When we reached the classroom door, I didn't see any other students but Gemini with his friends laughing in the back. Before we even entered the door, someone approached Markcris, our classmate, and I heard him say, "Mark, our professor is getting the project folders from the faculty."

"Okay."  He nods.  He turned to me and let me know what was said to him, "Fourth, I'll just get the folders from the faculty."

"Sure."  I smile.

As soon as I entered the room, I walked to my desk and acted like I didn't see him, but even I didn't turned to him, I could see in my peripheral vision that he was staring. I never heard his laugh again.

"Love."  He murmured.  He put his hand on my desk to keep him leaning slightly behind me and brought his face closer, "My friends and I hung out at the club after class."

"We need to talk about something first... Sit down."  I whispered.  I patted the empty seat next to me and he immediately sat down to seat beside me.

"What is it?"  He asked.

"What did you and my brother talk about?"  I asked swiftly.

"I'm okay... They didn't hurt me. They just reminded me not to hurt you."  He can't look me in the eyes, but he genuinely smiles, caressing my cheeks.

"That's all?"

My fingers barely lifted his chin to crossed our eyes, how can I believe what he is saying if he can't make eye contact with me for a long time.  He's lying-

"What exactly did you talk about?"  I asked him again.

He sighed and smiled.  He looked me in the eyes, saying, "I'm really okay-"

"If you really don't want to say... I won't force you. I'll just ask my brother."  I pissed off.

"Love, there's no need-"

"You can leave now, our other classmates might catch us."  I said coldly, "You can hang out with your friends tonight, but don't stay up late."  I allowed it to end the conversation.

"Love, I'm sorry."  His soft voice.

"Gem!"  He was called behind his friends at the back.

"If you want me to hang out with you later... Shut up! Can't you wait?"  He turned to his friends and outburst, which silenced his friends. He turned his eyes to me and said with a please, "Love, I'm sorry."

I couldn't help but smile slyly.  Knowingly, only my eyes can see such a soft side that he doesn't show to others.  I forgot it was in our school.

I'm lost.

"Love."  He spoke in a softened tone as his finger tip played with my bare hand to get my attention, "Fine, I'll tell you... He doesn't like me."

My ears rang at what he said and my eyes widened when I faced him, "What?"

"But, They want me to start courting you first. And, I'm absolutely fine with it... I'll court you in front of them."  His gaze at me lovely eyes that arouse me.  I froze in the moment that our sights collided.

"But... You don't have to prove it to them. I'll be the one who will love you, not them."  I gave him a sly grin, "Maybe in the long time you've been impressing my older brothers, they've fallen for you too."  I casually joked that a smile appeared on his lips.
