Trevon drove down the road, glancing in the rearview mirror at a giggly Ayla and Raeleigh. Arianna had the day off-a coincidental need after yesterday's encounter with DeMario. The couple had just picked up the girls from school and decided to go to the mall to look around Spirit Halloween. As they pulled into the mall, the girls excitedly hopped out of the car, and held each adults' hand. The aroma of Cinnamon Buns and Chinese food hit their nose automatically, making their stomachs rumble slightly in response.

"Uncle Tre," Raeleigh voiced, squeezing his hand slightly.

"Yeah niecey?"

"Can we get a Cinnabon, please?" Raeleigh asked, her eyes wide with a small pout spreading across her lips.

"We'll get one after we eat something, okay?" Arianna responded. The girls walked ahead, staying close, but allowing the couple to be alone. As they walked, Ayla's eyes grew with a flash of awe as she spotted something to the side-a kiosk display showing children's luxury-styled cars. She quickly moved towards them to admire them, her joy captivated by the miniature Lamborghini as she pointed at it with a squeal.

Trevon watched from a distance as Arianna lowered next to Ayla, her eyes shining with a sense of disappointment. It was obvious she felt guilty, wishing she could give Ayla the birthday gift she wanted-a mini car Ayla had been wanting for a year now, but lack of funds stood in the way. Trevon's eyes shifted down to the Pink Lamborghini Ayla was sitting in, and without gaining attention, he walked toward the kiosk's cashier.

"How much would that pink Lambo be?" Trevon asked in a semi-whisper, attempting to keep the conversation private.

The young man nodded, following his gaze toward the car. "That would cost around six hundred and thirty-nine dollars. If you buy it in stores of course, I can assure you this is way better quality than anything online, even though Amazon has cheaper prices. Not to mention that the website prices are around the price of a used car."

Trevon nodded, keeping the idea in the back of his mind as he walked over to the girls. He watched as she twisted and turned the wheel, her giggles flowing through the crowded mall. Arianna gave a small smile, even though her worry showed in her eyes-she was stuck between throwing the birthday party and buying Ayla the toy car. In a small silence, the group walked into the Halloween store, the girls rushing to the season-themed toys as Trevon and Arianna looked around.

"I want to give her a surprise party," Arianna mumbled, her eyes searching for a specific costume for her and Ayla. "But she wants that damn car."

Trevon's eyes shifted over to her. "You act like you got to do it by yourself."

Arianna looked at him, holding the Morticia Addams costume. "I do. What are you talking about?"
