On November 6th, history was made with Donald Trump elected as the 47th President of the United States. This outcome is striking and perhaps hard to fully grasp, especially given the challenges of the past two years. President Trump's journey to victory has been marked by unprecedented obstacles-ranging from political persecution and legal battles to even attempts on his life. Yet, he not only overcame these hurdles but also achieved a remarkable sweep of the popular vote. The Republican Party secured the Senate and retained control of the House, adding to the significance of this victory.
In this book, I'll delve into the key moments and dynamics that shaped this historic election. For those who may have missed recent events, I will provide a comprehensive recap of this pivotal week. Additionally, I'll share thoughts on the path forward, now that the nation has chosen its next leader. As you know, polling coverage was extensive throughout the day, and the implications of this election are likely to shape American politics for years to come.
As the voting progressed, the evening truly gained momentum around 7:00 PM Eastern Time, when polls began closing in East Coast states and initial results started streaming in across news networks. Trump secured an early lead, amassing 23 electoral votes from Indiana, Kentucky, and West Virginia, while Kamala Harris trailed with only three votes at that stage.
An hour later, with the next round of poll closings, Trump extended his lead to 45 electoral votes by winning Oklahoma, Mississippi, and Alabama. Harris, in turn, gained some ground, adding 10 electoral votes from Maryland, which brought her total to 13.

Shortly thereafter, a significant wave of additional ballot counts began to be reported. Trump surged ahead by capturing Florida, South Carolina, and Tennessee, bringing his total to 95 electoral votes. Meanwhile, Harris's tally grew to 35 electoral votes with the addition of Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.
As the evening wore on, Trump's trajectory continued to gain momentum. By approximately 9:00 PM Eastern Time, he had reached 137 electoral votes with the addition of Arkansas, Louisiana, Ohio, both Dakotas, Wyoming and Nebraska's statewide vote. Harris, too, accelerated her pace, capturing Illinois, New York, New Jersey, and Delaware, bringing her total to 99 electoral votes.
