Qin Shihong paced back and forth in Niu hall. The stress from his son missing was eating him alive and made him almost have a qi deviation. It has been days since he departed just to go to the market, yet he didn't return yet.
The doors flung open as a disciple ran inside. "Sect leader! He- he's back!" he yelled out. Qin Shihong immediately rushed outside, coming face to face with his son who was holding Luo An tightly in his arms. Along with them, there was also Xia Li and a woman Qin Shihong has never seen before. He rushed to Qin Yaozu right away, looking him over. "What happened? Why did you come back so late?" he asked anxiously. Qin Yaozu waved him off with a "I'll tell you later" and walked right past him. Luckily, Xia Li was willing to speak on his behalf and told Qin Shihong everything that happened. His jaw looked like it was dislocated from how low it fell at the end of the story.
Qin Yaozu took Luo An straight to his house, setting him down on the bed to rest. Mo Su followed along and chatted with him the whole time Luo An was asleep. After giving it a through thought, he decided to ask the thing that was on his mind since they were at the palace. "Why did you call him, A-Yi?" he asked hesitantly. Mo Su smiled and gave an explanation: "That's what his name was before the late emperor gave him the one he has now. I always used to call him that because I saw him as the person he was upon arriving rather than the one they wanted him to be. He was just a child after all. It made me sick to think of the things that sick bastard was doing to him," she paused for a moment before continuing. "I remember how he looked like when I first saw him. He was laying on the floor, too weak to get up. There was blood coming from between his legs and he was covered in bites. He looked really pitiful at that time so I couldn't help holding him in an embrace after cleaning him up. It didn't take long before he fell asleep and I had to leave him. The thought of this happening again was eating me alive, yet I couldn't do anything about it." She began to tear up halfway through the last sentence.
Qin Yaozu was speechless, the disgust showing on his face. No wonder Luo An ended up killing the emperor in the end. He really did deserve it. Qin Yaozu's gaze moved to Luo An who was sleeping peacefully. It was such a misfortune that all of that happened to him, but there was no way to reverse it. If only there was anything he could do, even if it included sacrificing everything he has and loves, Qin Yaozu would definitely give it all up just to make Luo An happy. No matter the cost, he was always worth it.
Luo An slept for a long time. He was completely exhausted after everything that happened, but he was happy it was over. When he opened his eyes, the first person he saw was Qin Yaozu who was holding a bowl of congee. "You're finally awake. I made you something to eat." Luo An took the bowl with a smile. "I knew you were the one making me food all this time, even back then," Qin Yaozu blushed and looked away upon hearing that. Luo An only chuckled and added: "But you know I don't need to eat, right?" Qin Yaozu didn't say a word, refusing to look at him at all. Luo An sighed and ate anyway, wishing that he'd look at him again. After finishing, he set the bowl aside and reached to grab Qin Yaozu's hand. "What's up with you? You seem upset." No answer. "Hello?-" Luo An's eyes widen as he was pulled into a kiss. Qin Yaozu wrapped his arms around his waist, pulling him to stand up and holding him tightly.
     "I love you."
Luo An was shocked but he expected it at the same time. He immediately grabbed him and pushed him onto the bed, getting on top. "I knew it," he said mischievously. Qin Yaozu's ears turned red from such action, complimenting the red earrings he still didn't return to their rightful owner. Luo An noticed them long ago, but only now did he decide to bring it up. "How much longer are you going to keep wearing them?" he teased. Qin Yaozu reached to take them off only for Luo An to grab his hand and hold it down. "I didn't tell you that I want them back. If you want them, keep them."
Qin Yaozu shook his hand off and still removed them before putting them on Luo An's ears. "They suit you better. You look beautiful." Luo An's confidence seemed to falter for a moment, his cheeks turning red. "You think so?" he asked. Qin Yaozu nodded: "The most beautiful person I've ever seen." Luo An smiled brightly, kissing him deeply before pulling away and tugging onto his clothes. Qin Yaozu raised an eyebrow. "Where did those come from?" The thing he was referring to were a pair of fluffy ears accompanied by a big tail. Luo An only noticed just now as well and he just chuckled. "Am I not beautiful anymore?" Qin Yaozu smirked and flipped them over, getting on top. "How could you think that, my little fox?"
Their lips collided once again, latching onto each other hungrily. It didn't take long before their clothes was on the floor. Qin Yaozu held Luo An so gently as if he was going to break into a thousand pieces upon any type of rough treatment. The room was soon filled with soft moans and gasps coming from both of them. Qin Yaozu watched Luo An's reactions the whole time until he decided to flip him onto his stomach, gently grabbing his tail before getting a little rougher, making the fox shake underneath him. In the end, he was pushed over the edge multiple times, feeling weak and tired. Qin Yaozu smiled at him, carrying to a bathtub and washing him up until he fell asleep right there in the water. After carrying him back and washing up as well, he laid next to him, holding him close in an embrace, kissing his face. "I love you," he whispered into his ear as he stroke his back. "Nobody will hurt you every again, I promise." Luo An forced his eyes open and kissed Qin Yaozu's nose. "Thank you," was all he mumbled before closing his eyes again and pressing his face into his chest.
It was late already so it didn't take long before Qin Yaozu joined him in the dream realm, never letting go of him.
