POV

The buzz around the campus had been electric since the morning. A new student had transferred in, and from what everyone was saying, he was like nothing this school had seen before. Rumors spread like wildfire-cold as ice, rude, good-looking in a dangerous way. Whispers floated down every hallway about how he was the perfect "bad boy," the kind of guy that commanded attention without even trying.

Taehyung and Jimin heard bits and pieces of the gossip throughout the day, growing curious about this mysterious new senior who'd suddenly captured everyone's interest. Taehyung chuckled at the comments he overheard: "handsome daddy," "cold as ice." He shot Jimin a playful look. "What's with all the fuss? Do you think he's really that intimidating?"

Jimin shrugged, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "Guess we'll have to see."

The lunch bell rang, signaling the start of the break, and Taehyung and Jimin made their way to the cafeteria, laughing and chatting along the way. As they reached the bustling lunch area, Taehyung nudged Jimin. "Look! Over there."

Jimin followed Taehyung's gaze, and his eyes widened. Sitting with Jungkook and the notorious "bad boys" of the school was a guy who looked every bit as intense as the rumors suggested. His dark hair framed his face, and his gaze was cold, unwavering. He was surrounded by other students, yet he seemed distant, as if he didn't care about anyone's presence but his own. He exuded an aura of effortless confidence that made people wary yet intrigued.

The sight of Jungkook sitting with him and laughing felt like a fresh sting for Taehyung. He'd grown used to Jungkook ignoring him, to the slow, painful drift that was pushing them further apart. But to see him with this new guy-looking comfortable and at ease-only twisted the knife deeper.

Taehyung nudged Jimin again, his voice low. "That's him, right? The one everyone's been talking about."

But Jimin didn't respond right away. His expression had shifted, his usual smile replaced by something unreadable. He was staring at the new guy, his eyes wide with recognition. He took a small step back, barely managing to whisper a name. "Yoongi..."

The name barely left his lips, but Taehyung caught it. He turned to Jimin, puzzled. "You...know him?"

Jimin swallowed, tearing his gaze away from Yoongi, his face a mix of shock and something Taehyung couldn't quite place. "Yes"jimin murmured and left the cafeteria leaving a dumbfounded taehyung.

____

Across the cafeteria, Jungkook leaned back in his seat, feeling a strange pride at being friends with Yoongi. This guy was everything Jungkook thought he needed to be-detached, rebellious, untouchable. Yoongi embodied the perfect image he'd been chasing, and being friends with him made Jungkook feel like he'd finally crossed into the territory he'd been aiming for.

Yoongi glanced around the cafeteria, his gaze sweeping over the students before landing on Taehyung and Jimin for a brief second. There was no warmth in his expression, no flicker of recognition, only the same cold indifference he seemed to have toward everyone.

Jungkook's friends noticed the two younger boys, and one of them let out a mocking laugh. "Look, it's the puppy and his new bestie."

Jungkook clenched his jaw, trying to ignore the jabs, but Yoongi raised an eyebrow, a subtle smirk tugging at his lips. "Friends of yours, Jungkook?"

"ye-nah," Jungkook muttered, but even as he said it, his eyes lingered on Taehyung. There was something about the way he stood there with Jimin, the way he looked just a little bit more distant than before, that twisted Jungkook's insides in a way he couldn't explain.

But he couldn't say anything. Not in front of his new friends.
