POV:
The air felt heavy, the silence suffocating. Jungkook’s eyes, still wet with tears, searched Taehyung’s face for any sign of the warmth he once knew. But what he saw now was different—a calm, almost serene mask that sent chills down his spine.
Suddenly, a strange sensation coiled in his stomach. His vision blurred, the edges darkening. A sharp pain crawled through his veins, spreading like wildfire. His knees buckled slightly, and his breath hitched. Panic rose within him, but before he could speak, Taehyung’s soft, almost angelic voice pierced through the haze.
“So... the poison is working well.”
Jungkook’s heart stopped. His teary eyes widened, locking onto Taehyung’s. The words echoed in his mind, each syllable a dagger. Poison? His throat tightened, a metallic taste coating his tongue. He coughed violently, a splatter of crimson staining his lips. The background spun, but his gaze never left Taehyung’s.
Is this... how tae felt? The question reverberated in his mind. The betrayal, the agony—was this what Taehyung had endured because of him? Guilt tightened its grip on his chest, suffocating him more than the poison ever could.
Taehyung stepped closer, a soft, almost loving smile curling his lips. His eyes shimmered with something unreadable—pain, hatred, love... all woven together in a twisted symphony. He cupped Jungkook’s face, his touch gentle, yet laced with something sinister.
“Kookie,” he whispered, voice dripping with an innocence that felt wrong, “I’ve always loved you. Even after all the shitty things you did.” His thumb brushed Jungkook’s cheek, leaving a trail of warmth that contrasted the cold chaos within. “But the moment you cussed me out, the moment you looked at me with those eyes full of distrust... that was the last straw.”
Jungkook’s eyes filled with fresh tears. The weight of his mistakes crashed over him like a tidal wave, each memory sharper than the last. The nights he left Taehyung alone, the words he spat in anger, the trust he shattered—each moment replayed in his mind, a cruel montage of his own sins.
Taehyung’s fingers tightened around Jungkook’s cheeks, his nails digging in ever so slightly. His smile widened, a hint of something dark flickering in his eyes. “I loved you, Jungkook,” he continued, voice soft, almost mournful. “My love was pure. Everlasting. No judgment. No trust issues. Just... loyalty.” His eyes darkened. “But you... you changed everything. You made me question everything I ever believed about love.”
Jungkook’s vision blurred further. He tried to speak, to apologize, but his voice was gone, lost in the chaos of his mind and the poison in his veins. I deserve this, he thought, tears streaming down his face. Every bit of it.
