3 Weeks LaterThe days in the hospital had blurred together. The sterile white walls and the monotonous beeping of machines had become a routine for Taehyung. Three weeks had passed since that night—since the confrontation, since the moment everything shattered. His wrist wasn’t fully healed, but the doctors had decided he was ready for discharge.
Jimin had been by his side the entire time, refusing to leave him alone. Taehyung had found a kind of quiet strength in his friend’s presence. Now, as he packed his things in Jimin's apartment, preparing to leave for the U.S., he felt a mix of anxiety and relief.
"Are you sure about this, Taehyung?" Jimin’s voice was soft, full of concern. He stood in the doorway, watching Taehyung fold his clothes one by one.
Taehyung nodded, not looking up. "I need a fresh start, Jimin. Staying here... it hurts too much."
Jimin sighed, crossing the room to sit beside Taehyung on the bed. "Jin-hyung and Namjoon-hyung are worried about you. They keep calling, asking if you’re okay. You should talk to them more."
"I know," Taehyung whispered. "They’ve done so much for me already. I just... I can’t face them until I get stronger. I don’t want them to see me like this."
Jimin placed a hand on his shoulder. "You don’t have to be strong all the time, you know. They love you. We all do."
A tear slipped down Taehyung’s cheek, but he quickly wiped it away. "I’ve leaned on everyone too much. I need to stand on my own now."
Just then, a knock at the door interrupted their conversation. Jimin’s father stepped in, a warm, reassuring presence. He had always treated Taehyung like a son, scolding him for not eating his medicine on time , making handmade breakfast, lunch dinner, comforting taehyung and when his eyes fell on taehyung his eyes softened.
"Taehyung-ah," he said gently, walking over. "How are you feeling?"
Taehyung stood up, bowing respectfully. "I’m better, sir. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me."
Jimin’s father smiled, pulling Taehyung into a brief hug. "You’re family. You don’t have to thank me. We’re all here for you."
The room was quiet for a moment, the weight of unspoken words settling between them. Finally, Jimin broke the silence. "Appa, Taehyung’s flight is tomorrow. He’s staying here tonight."
His father nodded. "That’s good. You need rest before a long journey." He turned to leave, pausing at the door. "If you need anything, Taehyung, don’t hesitate to ask. We’ll always be here."
As the door closed behind him, Taehyung let out a shaky breath. "Your family is too good to me, Jimin."
"Because you deserve it," Jimin replied firmly.

The next morning, the ride to the airport was quiet. Jimin’s father had insisted on driving, and Jimin sat beside Taehyung in the backseat. The city passed by in a blur, each familiar street feeling like a goodbye.
When they arrived, Jimin helped Taehyung with his luggage, his expression unreadable. "Are you really ready for this?" he asked one last time.
Taehyung forced a smile. "I have to be."
They walked together to the check-in counter, Taehyung clutching his passport and ticket. His heart was heavy, each step feeling like a final goodbye to the life he was leaving behind.
As he checked his passport and ticket one last time, he didn’t notice the figure standing far off in the distance. A man in a black hoodie, a bucket hat pulled low over his eyes, watched him intently. Sunglasses and a mask hid his face, but tears slipped silently down his cheeks.
The guy's hands trembled in his pockets as he watched Taehyung. A pathetic sob escaped his lips, but he quickly covered his mouth, silencing the sound not like anyone could hear him in the airport's Chaos.
