[CHAPTER ONE — LUDWIG AND GURG FIND A CHILD]
It had been 30 years since peace had reigned all over Calleopta. War had raged on for, well, 30 years, and now, another war began, all because of that stupid Viper Queen. The first war had begun due to the miscommunication of goods between two kingdoms in Calleopta; The kingdom of Scamishka, lead by King Johto and his wife Dianni, and the kingdom of Follommen, lead by the arrogant Lord Cammel and his wife Udyne. Notibly, all this started because Lord Cammel refused to read the messages seent by King Johto regarding the trading issue in the valley, which was composed of a dispute between the Scamishkians of the Valley, the ones who operated the gates and guarded the border, and the travelling Follommen who were gladly willing to trade, but had unfortunately contracted the Wartly Flu. The two sides were arguing over why should and why shouldn't the Follommen go through the valley. Due to that akward miscommunication, Lord Cammel went warbent against Scamishka. Since then, Follommen has been losing men and goods. At one point, Lord Cammel eventually read the messages sent by King Johto, which were regarding the dispute at the valley, and ended the war on his terms—which was a metaphor for King Johto winning in the end.
The second war—the one started by the Viper Queen—had begun because little Miss Viper Queen was all fissy for not being invited to Queen Dian's birthday party, which was odd since Viper Queen was like a thousand years older than Queen Dian who was in her mid 20s. Anywho, the Viper Queen called upon her devoted cult, which was composed of Valkors, dark magic using rouges who had the ability to shapeshift—Oh, and men, too (Valkors were of many genders, if none at all.) Viper Queen ordered the Valkors, and men, to attack everyone in Scamishka, as well as the other kingdoms. It was only with the help of two amateur yet powerful wizards that the Viper Queen was defeated. These two wizards were Ludwig Burlubous and Gurg Gornott. The two were only 24 years old, and yet they've managed to put an end to the Viper Queen's wrath. The Viper Queen's magic had vanished, and so has the magic her Valkors had. But, although the Viper Queen was no more, the Valkors were still up and about, scattered across the lands, wreaking havoc amongst towns, in hopes of honoring the Viper Queen, as devoted cult members do. The horny men vanished without a trace like fathers despite never being laid.
Despite the loss of magic, the Valkors still wreaked havoc. The villages the Valkors targeted were villages within Scamishka. King Johto, worried for his villages, sent out Ludwig and Gurg out to get rid of the remaining Valkors. Ludwig was the least intrigued about this. After that intense battle against the Viper Queen, Ludwig had expected a big break after this, some shut eye after not having slept for about a month properly. Gurg, on the other hand, was rather intrigued. He was eager to use more of his magic, especially with all the magic combos he can think of and conjure. Unfortunately, both men's houses had been destroyed during the war, so, in a hospitable and charitable way, King Johto gave the two men a new house. The only problem was that only one house could be created due to the loss of material. Trading with the Follommen wasn't a good choice as the Follommen were recovering from the last war, and also the Warty Flu. Besides, the Follommen, too, have lost materials from the last war, meaning neither kingdom could trade each other materials. They could try trading with the Gurlurkians of the Gurlurk Kingdom, but Gurlurk was miles away, plus a giant lake, too, though you could say said lake is a sea.
So, the two men shared the house. Luckily, the house was big enough for two people. Ludwig and Gurg were tasked to settle into their new house before being sent off to rid the world of the Viper Queen's followers. Ludwig changed his raggedy clothes to the new, well-stitched clothes the King provided as a reward for ridding the world of the vicious Viper Queen. The clothes were soft and fit as a glove, like a warm embrace from your mother. Ludwig put away his old clothes just as Gurg entered his room with a basket of apples.
