"Mommy, who's Harley?" he asked.

Martina panicked and said, "Ah, eh... Pet ko dati."

Martin nodded sleepily, not pressing further.

*Jowanaaaaaa*
*Jooooowanaaaaa*
*Jowanaaaaaaaaa*

Martina's phone rang loudly. She recognized the ringtone immediately—definitely Jordyn.

Stirring awake, Martha shifted slightly and realized she was still hugging her mom. "Answer your phone, mom," she mumbled sleepily. "Baka si Daddy yan."

"Papa ang itawag mo," Martina replied quickly, reaching for her phone.

"Luh," Martin mumbled at his mom's suggestion, barely awake.

Sab and Jordyn had been dating for quite some time, and through Sab, Jordyn had also become close friends with Martina, especially during their visits to see her in the U.S. Jordyn had long made peace with Martina's past, knowing that Alex no longer had feelings for her and feeling secure in her love for Sabrina.

Martina: Jords, palitan ko na yung ringtone na nakaset sa 'yo. Nakakarindi na eh.

Jordyn: Ganda nga eh! May susuotin ka na ba sa party mamaya?

Sab: Ready ka na makita siya ulit?

Martina: Too late. Nakita ko na. Magkasama na naman kayo? Di ba kayo nasusuka sa pagmumukha ng isa't isa?

Jordyn: Anong sabi mo nung una? Kailan? Saan? Bakit? Weh??? Poganda pa rin 'no?!

Sab: Gusto mong mawalan ng jowa?

Martina: Yan kasi.

Jordyn: Joke lang eh. So ano nga? Ready ka nang magcomeback sa buhay niya este sa hospital?

Martina: Ewan ko! Bahala na mamaya! Hays!

Martina hung up and turned to her children, who looked like they were waiting for an explanation.

"Why papa?" Martin asked, tilting his head.

"Is she our papa? She's like mas—mama? With lawet?" Martha asked, her brows furrowing.

"Jusko! Anong lawet?! Papa is short for pare. Basta! Don't call her daddy, but you can call her papa—ay wait, t-tanong ko muna siya if p-payag siya," Martina stuttered, trying to explain.

"Why nga po? Pwede naman namin siyang tawagin na tata or toto," Martin suggested. Then he squinted at her suspiciously. "Suspicious ka, momma."

"Oo nga! Parang may something!" Martha agreed, crossing her arms like a tiny detective.

Martina sighed, exasperated. "Ang dami niyong tanong! Akala niyo di ko alam na master tawag niyo sa lowlamama niyo? At bakit ba master?!" she said, her voice rising slightly.

Martin looked down at his tiny hands, guilt written all over his face. "Mama po kasi short for master," he mumbled.

"Para raw po pogi pa rin siya and hindi gurang," Martha added helpfully, nodding as if she just solved the mystery.

Martina groaned and facepalmed, shaking her head at the absurdity. "Good luck talaga sa 'yo Alex sa mga anak mong mana sa 'yo," she muttered under her breath.
