"About our engagement and why you left."
"Engagement? What are you talking about?" Alex asked, her voice filled with confusion.
"Alex, before the plane crash, we had a misunderstanding... di mo ba maalala?" Jordyn asked, stepping forward and gently touching Alex's face.
Alex immediately grabbed Jordyn's hand, gripping it tightly. Jordyn winced. "Aray! Ano ba?!"
"Don't you dare touch me," Alex hissed, her eyes dark with anger. "You're not my wife."
"Wife?" Jordyn mumbled, more to herself than to Alex.
"Yes, wife. I'm married," Alex said firmly. "And aren't you dating Sab? Stop this nonsense, or I'll tell her to stay away from you." Alex turned to walk away, but Jordyn quickly wrapped her arms around her from behind.
Alex's eyes widened, not because of Jordyn's sudden embrace, but because she saw Martina standing right in front of her.
"Baby! It's not what you think!" Alex said in a panic, instantly pushing Jordyn's hands off her. She rushed to Martina, wrapping her arms around her tightly.
"Baby, I'm not cheating on you. I love you so much. She's the one acting weird. I don't understand her," Alex pleaded, her voice breaking. "Please, baby, don't leave me. Ikaw lang ang meron ako."
Martina gently pulled away from Alex's embrace, cupping her wife's face in her hands. "I believe you, mahal," she said softly, "but I need to know more about what Jordyn meant. I want to talk to her... alone."
Alex hesitated, her grip on Martina tightening for a moment before she sighed and nodded. "Okay," she said, glancing at Jordyn with a mix of confusion and frustration. "But please, don't be long. I don't trust her."
Martina gave Alex a reassuring smile before turning to Jordyn, who stood there silently, her expression unreadable. "Let's talk," Martina said, her voice steady.
They walked a few steps away, just out of earshot from Alex, who watched them from a distance. Martina crossed her arms, her eyes sharp as she studied Jordyn. "What did you mean by engagement? I want to hear everything."
Jordyn took a deep breath, looking down at the ground before meeting Martina's gaze. "Alex and I were in a relationship for five years," she began, her voice low. "We were engaged. But we had a huge fight, and... I think I might have been the reason she was on that plane. Umalis siya dahil sa galit niya sa 'kin."
Martina's heart pounded in her chest. "Leaving you? Why?"
Jordyn looked away, her jaw tightening. "I can't tell you. It doesn't matter anymore anyway. Alex is married to you now," she said with a bitter smile. "I just—" She paused, her voice faltering. "I just wanted you to know what we were before the accident."
Martina frowned. "It does matter. I need to know what happened between you two. What was the fight about?"
Jordyn shook her head. "No, Martina. That part of Alex's life is over. It's not my place to dig it up now, especially now na di na niya ako maalala. All that matters is that she's your wife. Whatever we had, it's in the past."
Martina clenched her fists, frustrated by the lack of answers, but she could see Jordyn wasn't going to budge. "Fine. But promise me one thing—don't let Sab find out from someone else. She deserves the truth from you."
Jordyn sighed, nodding. "Alam ko. I'll tell her when the time is right. Just... don't say anything to her yet."
Martina nodded, but she couldn't shake the uneasy feeling settling in her chest. There was something more to this, something she wasn't seeing yet. But for now, she had to focus on Alex—her wife, who didn't remember any of it.
