Ling Pov

I didn't know that Orm could have such hatred towards me. I never meant to hurt her but somehow her words still ring in my head. 

"I don't like you." What is the reason for Uncle to make such a decision? I looked at him. Uncle understood my look and asked me, 

"Did your parents tell you the name of that girl?" I hummed then said.

"Norawan"

"Isn't that Orm?" Lookmhee gasped. I looked at her confused. 

"Yes, Norawan is Orm's old name, Norawan Sethratanapong." P'Junji said.

l jumped up in shock and looked at everyone. 

"Fahlada, we met your parents before they died for business purposes that's when your father told us about this marriage proposal. We had such a wish to give Orm to someone who can love and care for her and we are sure you can do that but we don't have much faith in her boyfriend Wisanu. You must agree to this marriage not for us but for your parents." Auntie said.

Then the place was filled with silence. No one dared to say anything. 

Putting an end to that awkward silence, I cleared my throat attention everyone turned to me. 

I smiled slightly at Sonya before looking at Uncle.

"I tried so much to fulfill the last wish of our dad and mom. In the meantime, I had mistakenly assumed that Norawan might be waiting for me as much as I was waiting for her, despite never seeing her in person. I was really happy when I found out that Orm is Norawan but I didn't know that she hated me the most in her life." I looked down and took a deep breath then looked at everyone to give my famous smile. 

That smile hid many meanings and feelings that smile is known only to those who know me very closely Sonyaa grabbed my hand and stroked it as if she knew what I was going to say next.

"Uncle, With all due respect, I know you want to see us together but this marriage should not take place without her consent. I respect Orm's decision as much as I value my parent's wishes. It's her life and she alone has the right to make all the decisions about her life. Don't force her, please."

After saying this, I got up and looked at Sonya. Her teary eyes made me cringe. I held her hand and slowly said

"Let's go."

She got up after nodding.

"Thanks for the dinner Aunty, Good night everyone. Nice to see you all and Lookmhee, we'll see you later." Holding Sonya by my side, I walked to the door.

Everyone came to see us off but I stopped when I saw Orm standing on the stairs. I smiled sweetly at her. 

"Good night Orm, sorry for the trouble." I said.

She didn't say anything and just looked at me without any emotion. 

Sonya pulled me. 

"Let's go P'ling." I nodded and went out with her.

Orm Pov

Exhausted from crying and thirst, I came downstairs thinking that Ling must be gone, but I stayed there listening to Ling's confession. 

I felt guilty for misunderstanding and blaming her but that doesn't mean I fell in love with her. I don't want to marry her either.
