chapter 10

Ms. Abernathy's POV:
"She's gone! and so are Emily and Kyle!" I said panicking
"Well she's with Emily and Kyle so she should be safe." The king declared
"But your majesty... the prisoner is gone two."
"c'mon" he said heading out the door,"we have a war to fight"
Bellamy's POV:
Brooklyn and I had been talking for almost 2 hours, she had explained to me everything about her life. I had learned about how her mom and dad were basically forced into marriage and how they are always arguing, I learned how her uncle almost burned her alive but Kyle had saved her, and how they hadn't talked for two years until yesterday. I felt bad for her, she has experienced too much pain in her life. I had told Brooklyn about the Ark and how my mom had gotten floated for having my sister and how Clarke and I had come down to earth with the 100.
"I want to meet Octavia." She says
"Ya, I'll show her to you when we get inside, I think she'll love you." I say
"should we head inside now?" she asks.
"Yeah, I think we've been out here for a while now." I say. that's when I notice them in the distance, trying not to scare Brooklyn I say,
"Hey let's go now"
"What's that?" she asks scared, "Those look like my people.."
thousands of warriors, some on horseback, others on foot come over the hill. Before we could realize it, the guard was shooting at them and they were shooting at us, I saw an arrow heading towards Brooklyn and I knew what I had to do, I jumped in front of her just as the arrow struck my chest.
"My responsibility" I said as I drifted into a deep sleep, I looked once more up at Brooklyn, with tears in her eyes, she stood up and screamed with all her might, that was the last thing I remembered before everything went black.
Brooklyn's POV:
I saw the arrow hit his chest, I knew what he had done, he had saved me.
"my responsibility." he said
I couldn't take this, I couldn't let my people kill the people I cared about. I stood up and I screamed with all of my might
"STOOOOOP!!!" I screamed
people stopped shooting as they realized it was me.
"Where are my parents!" I yelled
There were whispers throughout the group. They started to clear a path, that's when I saw them. They were laying there, my father had two gunshot wounds in his chest and my mom had one.
"He jumped to save her." someone said
"Princess?" my dad asked
"Dad..." I said, my voice quivering
"Princess I want you to know that no matter what I will never stop loving you and your mother, you need to lead them now, my time is up, it's your turn now." He said
"I-I can't" I said "I'm too young"
"No honey they need you"
" okay I'll do it" I said
"okay, I'm gonna miss you more than anything" he said as he slowly closed his eyes.
"noooooo" I yelled as tears brimmed in my eyes.
"mom?" I ask
"Princess, I'll see you again soon, you'll be a great leader." she said as she closed her eyes.
I couldn't believe it, I had so many emotions in me I just wanted to scream and take it all out on the next person who talked to me, but I couldn't do that. I had to calm myself and be a leader. But wait...Bellamy!!
Clarke's POV:
I ran through the gates, Bell laid there with an arrow in his chest.
"Hey" I said "I need you to stay with me"
I saw Brooklyn she had tears in her eyes and they were red and puffy. She came over and knelt down next to me. Bellamy's head was in my lap and Brooklyn was stroking his hair.
"Hey, I can't loose you two okay." she muttered.
"Hey are you okay?" I ask her
"No, but we need to focus on Bell right now" she said.
I admired her selflessness.
"Okay we need to get him into medical" I said "Gather your people and bring them into the camp, anyone who needs to go to medical send them in"
"okay" she said "and Clarke...make sure he's okay, he really helped me today"
"I'll make sure Hun" I say.
Brooklyn's POV:
"okay" I said in a leader tone "Who needs to go to medical" a few people raised their hands "follow me, all of you"
I brought them into camp Jaha. Everyone seemed very welcome, mostly because the only sky person we had hurt was Bellamy.
"Emily!!" I yelled as I ran towards her.
She wrapped me in a hug, "what's wrong?" she asked
"My parents... they're dead" I stutter
"oh Brooke, I'm so so sorry" she said letting me go from the hug. We both were crying as Kyle walked over,
"what's wrong with you two?" he asked
"go help Clarke with Bellamy" Emily said to me, " I'll explain to Kyle"
"thanks" I say to her as I run to the Medical tent.
I couldn't let Bellamy die, he saved my life, now I'm gonna save his.
