Despite being tired, Jungkook didn't have the slightest thought of falling asleep. His body was on high alert, listening to every small sound. He spent a considerable amount of time trying to find any possible escape routes but there seem to be none. The only way out of the room was through the door and Jungkook was sure it was heavily guarded as well as locked.
He then tried to find anything from the room that can be used as a weapon but again, his attempts were futile. He truly seems to have only himself to rely on. Jungkook thought about taking his chances with the guards at the door but the part of him that was curious to know the identity of his kidnappers, won over the part of him who was worried about self preservation.
So he waited. He wasn't sure how much time passed but it at least had to be a couple of hours when a knock was heard. The door opened in the next second and Jungkook's eyes widened in surprise when he saw the man who came in.
“Prince Jong-in?”
“Oh.. you remember me.” The newcomer, prince Jong-in said as he placed his hand over his heart dramatically. “I'm flattered.”
“What- it was you?” Jungkook's voice was still colored with disbelief. “You kidnapped me?”
“Indeed.”
“Why?! What could you possibly want?!”
“Your kingdom.” Prince Jong-in leisurely walked towards the armchair in the room and sat on it. “And you, of course.”
“What?”
“Yeah. I mean father wanted to make you a servant at my brother's palace but I convinced him to give you to me. I'm sure you'd make a nice addition to my harem when I'm king.”
Jungkook couldn't believe what he was actually hearing. Prince Jong-in was the second son of the neighboring king, Kim Jun-myeon. Despite being of the same age, Jungkook and Jong-in never really got along. There was something sinister about prince Jong-in that Jungkook always felt kind of uncomfortable around him. And after a particularly unsettling incident in their younger days, the crown prince Junghyun got involved and made sure that Jungkook didn't have to interact with Jong-in ever again.
But no matter what uneasiness he felt in Jong-in's presence, Jungkook never would have thought there was such evilness in their hearts.
“You were the ones who attacked the palace.”
It wasn't a question but Jong-in nodded his head in response. “Of course, father sent his best team but those idiots couldn't even get that old king. Useless morons!”
Jungkook had to take a few deep breaths to calm himself down. The way prince Jong-in was talking about his father was enough to make Jungkook's blood boil but he knew he had to be smart now. The fact that king Jun-myeon already had the royal court infiltrated was very concerning. Who knows how many more of his countrymen had already betrayed them like Yeosung and his family?
Jungkook knew he had to escape. He needs to warn his father and brother.
Jungkook looked at Jong-in. “My father will never let you win. He already would have sent troops to find me.”
Jong-in only laughed. “I'm sure he did, but by the time they get here, you'll be long gone.”
And as Jungkook was being escorted out with his hands tied behind his back, he couldn't help the slight worry that Jong-in might be right.

Jimin turned his head away in annoyance at the painful screaming. It had been going on for about an hour now but they were not able to get any information out of Lee Daeshin. Jimin had long stopped the torture on Lee Dahyun and her mother, along with the general servants of their household, as it was clear that they don't know anything. Dahyun was voluntarily forthcoming with the information but unfortunately for Jimin, there was only very little that she knew. The girl was honestly under the delusion that if it really was her brother's doing, he's doing it for her. Because of that one time she asked him to scare Do Hwan into leaving Taehyung.
