" Ever!" Ashton screeched before launching his body on top of his little sisters; resulting in a large snap and a fist in his face.

" Go away." The girl groaned in response, unknowing to the fact her beloved brother was bleeding on her comforter.

She and Michael had returned to her house a little after 3 am. She had been bubbling with excitement and adrenaline and fear due to the motorcycle, and Michael had climbed onto the roof to help her up.

He had grabbed her waist roughly just before she climbed into the window and whispered darkly in her ear.

" Same time tomorrow, princess. I look forward to it."

She had sucked in a breath, smacked him and climbed inside, shoe, coat, and fearless.

She had never felt so alive. And up until this morning, she had never felt so dead.

" I got the day off, Evy! But since I'm bleeding I'll just nurse my injury all day instead of taking you to the park." Ashton taunted and Ever simply threw her covers back, pulled him down into them, and began snoring again.

" C'mon Eves. It's 6:30, your usually making me breakfast by now." Ashton whined. He hadn't had a day off in 2 months and wanted to spend every minute of it with his baby sister.

Being a light mechanic was a high-pay but the least favoured job in the city. It was dangerous, since the lights were so old that they were extremely hazardous, and the hours were long, the days repetitive and very few days off due to the lack of employees wanting to work in that field.

" Exactly. Ash, I'm exhausted. 3 more hours?" She groaned, snuggling into his chest. He was a giant teddy bear, and for once she wasn't an early bird.

She really needed her giant teddy bear to shut up.

" I'll take you to Harry's club and he'll whip up something to wake you up. I usually stop by before work, he'll be happy to help you." Ashton said, nudging her off and pulling her into his arms in attempt to get her up.

She moaned, flipping over. She cracked an eye open, pouted, and hit him in a weak attempt to make him put her down.

" You can sleep on the way there." he bribed, and Ever looked at him with a certain 'I want' look.

" I better get a donut out of this."

" Stay still!"

" I can't, there's a butterfly flying around, Eves its so pretty!" Ashton replied in a rush, before giving up and chasing after the creature.

Ever sighed, closing her sketchbook, ignoring the egging feeling of incomplete work.

Ashton had been positioned on a branch in a willow tree, and Ever's objective was to capture his love-able, childish nature in a very detailed and realistic portrait.

Unfortunately it worked a bit too well.

Ever stood on her still sore ankle, and limped toward her next target, a peace-full pond with swirling water and families of swans on the other side of the park. Dotted with trees and tufts of flowers, along with a gurgling waterfall and soft, bright green grass, it was the most beautiful and most alive place in the entire city.

It was also the only place that held any type of nature.

She plopped down at a bench, pulled out a pencil and began again.

Hours could've passed. Days, even. Ever was so at peace that she didn't notice a figure sitting down beside her on the bench until he tossed a bit of bread into the water, making it ripple and causing the swans to fly away.
