As the Resolute soared through the stars, Evelyn felt the weight of their recent encounter settle heavily upon her shoulders. The echoes of the entity's voice lingered in her mind, weaving a tapestry of uncertainty and anticipation.

"Status report!" she commanded, her voice cutting through the tension in the bridge.

Lex's fingers flew over the controls. "We've cleared the planet's atmosphere, but Kallak's ships are in pursuit. They're closing in fast."

Evelyn's heart raced. "We need to lose them! Can we access the rift energy to jump to another sector?"

Jackson's brow furrowed as he examined the readouts. "It's risky. The rift energy is unstable, and we don't know what could happen if we try to harness it while they're on our tail."

Morgan turned, her eyes fierce. "We don't have a choice. If we let them catch us, they'll take everything we've learned."

Evelyn glanced at her crew, their expressions resolute. "Alright, let's prepare for a rift jump. Lex, monitor the energy levels closely. We need to time this perfectly."
