Three days later and we flew out to Cali.
A day after that and I found myself having breakfast with Mesut before the guys needed to get on their bus and I'd have to make my way to my designated seat in the stadium.
This was one of the more exciting matches I could think of.
My first ever live World Cup match, a national team I love and have officially come to meet and basically live with for the past couple of days, and lastly a match in my hometown.
I made plans for the team and managers to visit places around the city and they have more liberty now since they know what they're dealing with finally, but that all takes place tomorrow. I myself actually have off and it's great because I plan to visit some family and go enjoy the city for the little amount of time I'll be allowed to spend here before we get back to the island.
"Can you pass me the jam?" Toni asked me when he sat next to Mesut. "Thank you."
"No problem," I smiled before taking another bite of my sandwich.
"Nervous?" I ask Mesut.
"It's always good to have a little bit of nerves," he nods. "It's what builds up to the adrenaline."
"Don't mind if I sit here, do you?" Mario came up to the table and sat next to me.
"Any special plan for today?" I simply ask him.
"We'll just have to work our magic against Portugal," Mario shrugged.
"Agreed," Toni began to nod as he took a sip of his juice. "Our only true threat is Cristiano."
"Yeah, but that's where you come in," I pointed out the fact that they're teammates.
"I can't be of much help," Toni shrugged. "He'll always manage to surprise his opponent."
"Well," I start. "I believe in you guys."
"Thank you," Mario sings. "Let's hope the crowd there does too."
"Do you think they will?" Mesut asks. "I mean this is your city-"
"There have to be some people that like the German national team," I spoke. "I mean, I know the majority of Colombians are Real Madrid fans so their hearts will reside with Ronaldo, but some have to reside with the reigning champions."
"We'll see then," Mario smirked at me.
When we finished eating, the team began getting ready to board the bus and I went to go throw out my trash.
"What are you doing tomorrow?" Mario asks me and I note he followed me over.
"Family," I said. "But don't worry, you guys will have fun. I managed to get you guys dance lessons for half an hour-"
"I mean, since we have more freedom maybe we could do something tomorrow night in the city-"
"I'm flattered, Mario, but that really wouldn't be very appropriate," I shook my head and headed toward the bus.
"Let me know if you change your mind," he smiled and began walking faster than me.
I caught Marco's eyes as he waited for me to catch up to him.
"What was that about?" He almost laughs.
"What do you think?" I almost grunt before boarding the bus after Marco gestures for me to do so.
I was going down the aisle and there were two seats on the right of me I chose to sit in.
Marco chose to follow.
