"The best way to get over a woman, is to turn her into literature"
-Henry Miller,
This is my take
We are in Moscow, let's say in early 2000's, maybe 2005. Doesn't matter what time in the year, but let's say its second half of autumn. About ten in the morning, maybe ten-twenty. Constantine Alexander just finished shopping for groceries, he was coming home when he began getting closer and closer to local bakery.
That bakery is the place he met his last girlfriend, who dumped him after about two months because she lost feelings for him. That happened about five years ago, he was really sad but he got over her in less than two weeks, as just before she dumped him, he began losing his feelings to her.
Once he was close to the bakery, Alexander saw Peter, one of his best friends, and as Alexander says, the luckiest person alive. Its because Peter is few years older than him. While Constantine is twenty years old, Peter is twenty-four years old, he has finished medical faculty, has married his girlfriend of six years just a year earlier, and has one daughter. Peter also has a stable job and is a pretty cool guy to be around.
While Constantine is going to faculty himself, and has loving friends and family. What bothers him is that for past five years, he has no met a single woman that meets his standards.
You see, the thing he hates most about himself is the amount of importancy he puts on his life, he only gets one and wants to spend it as best as he can. He wants to live long peaceful life with his wife and few children. He has no bigger goal in life, he doesn't care about being a millionaire, or contributing to science, he has no intention of being best or worst at anything. All he wants is to die as happier and far away as possible.
That's why, for his wife, he doesn't want a random woman that's willing to be with him. He knows that once he marries someone, he will need to wake up next to them for the rest of his life, and he want's that someone to be someone special.
So once he finished chatting with Peter, he continued going home, when he noticed a girl, on a balcony of the building on the other side of the street. She was standing there, long orange hair, beautiful green eyes, pale skin, pretty lips and pink nails.
"What is she looking at?" Constantine thought to himself, "She seems to be looking in my way...Oh, okay I see it now. Her lips are full of water, she is looking at something in the bakery next to me, but what?"
Then, he saw that bakery has put up a sign, that they are again selling macarons, which they stopped selling few months ago.
"Hey you!" She yelled at Constantine, "We go to the same faculty, I've seen you before! Would you mind buying me few macarons? I will throw you the money"
Constantine knows who she is, he saw her numerous times in faculty and on that balcony, every day actually. She loves sitting there, watching people around her, working on her laptop, or reading a book.
Once she said that, Constantine didn't even look back at her, he just entered the bakery.
"Oh, seems he didn't hear me, but I'm too lazy to go down for them myself..." She said
After a minute, he comes out of the bakery, with a box of macarons, but when he got to her building and got her attention, he said "I cant just throw this at the fourth floor, I will come to your door, what is the number on your door?"
She didn't tell him the number, but said, "Ring on the door that says Bagryanov, I will pick them up, thank you"
So that was what happened, she thanked him and he went home. Once he got there, he was really happy about that interaction, he felt like there was something between them, but he was also sad that it is probably over.
Until, the next day he met her on the faculty, "Oh yes, I forgot we go to the same faculty"
She actually came to him, and once again thanked him getting out of his way to buy her sweets.
"You know, I am a pretty good baker, do you want to come to my house later? I was thinking on making Tres Leches, do you like them?" She said nervously, because as he later found out, she never had a boyfriend herself, she had few crushes but at the end they all turned out to be assholes and she lose feelings.
"Yes, sure I will come to your house" Alexander replied
Once lectures were finished, he waited for her outside. He was so nervous he almost stepped on a snail. "Close one, good thing I saw it" He said, just before he saw her getting outside with her eyes wide open, as she was looking for him.
"There you are!" She said with a smile.
He raises up his arm for a handshake, but she goes in for a hug, so he went with it.
"She smells so nice"

Disclaimer
Not everything i write in here is 1:1 with reality, i obviously had artistic freedom and made a story that reflects my experience more metaphorically.
The person I am talking about is an old crush of mine, its not a recent event, i wanted to write something about her when we parted ways but i couldn't force myself to do so. Now, more than a year later i finally decided to write something.
Now that i think about it, it really sounds like I'm just whining about my bad love life on the internet, but its not like that, which is why I'm not going to promote this novel in any way, i wont talk about it on the internet nor ask people to read it, its here for my soul and my soul only. Whoever reads it, reads it.
Only reason why i am writing this is because i wanted to put my feelings somewhere, and today when i heard Miller's quote, i decided to do this.
I wrote all this in about three hours, so I'm sure its full of grammatical errors and shits like that but i don't care, i feel proud i finally finished it.
