You basked underneath the sunlight while the calm waters clasped at each other. The sun rays glint brightly at the clear sea water, furthering its act of beaming and radiating sunlight off you. The sun stood above everything else, you looked at in further below the ground, or maybe— below and above the waters of the ocean. The boat that the three of you were in is fairly small, considering that the ration of the food that Luffy taked from the restaurant took over almost half of the space of the small boat. The sun rays was casted upon your face, as you immediately faced the clear sea waters, a bit annoyed about the sun rays hitting your body. Then, you felt a figure push your body aside, you let out an frustrated groan. Silently emphasizing that you want the person to move aside.

You put your head up, looking to side. Then, by your suprise, it was Luffy. The strawhat man only gave you a wide grin— the grin that he gave you made you forget about the wreck of a message your about to complain. You moved towards the small corner of the boat, letting Luffy take your previous space all by himself. The blustery atmosphere of the sea made Luffy's strawhat move within the air. It flew up above, slowly towards the sky. "My hat!" Luffy yelled worriedly, you immediately made a move, taking an another step to take the flying strawhat. But Zoro beat you to it. The tips of his fingertips managed to get a hold of the corner of the strawhat. He then handed it to Luffy, who he thanked and put it back on his head.

"Thank you, Zoro!" he put the strawhat right back above his head, as it softly fitted his head. He pushes it foward, smiling at the two of you.

You found it strange on why Luffy liked the strawhat so much.

"Luffy, why do you always wear the strawhat?" you curiously ask, busy looking down the clear waters, seeing your quiet reflection. Then, Luffy's head perked up by the sudden message. It was clearly obvious that your captain is excited. He then grabbed you even futher, as you closely leaned in his figure. Warmth immediately taked over your cheeks, as Luffy started telling on why he liked the strawhat so much. "Its because of Shanks!" he beamed brightly. The man's wide grin is brighter than the sun itself— it was like he was the sun himself.

"Shanks...?" You and Zoro said in unison. Luffy only nodded and continued on with his story. Later on, he revealed on how he met Red hair Shanks — the captain of the Red hair pirates. Moments later, he explained that in the Foosha village, the place where he grew up, thats where he met Red hair, his role model and idol. He then tells that Shanks was the sole reason on why he wants to be a pirate in the first place, Red hair was also the person who gave Luffy the strawhat. He said that to return the strawhat to Shanks, he needs to be a great pirate first, or maybe surpass his idol even more. "I promised to Shanks that I will surpass him and will be an even greater pirate than him!" he exclaimed, determined about his dream on being the future Pirate king. After hearing the heartwarming story of Luffy, and his friend Shanks, your curiosity just grew more and more towards the Strawhat that he always wears above his head. "That's a great dream you have, Luffy." a string of slight airy laughter escaped your lips, as Luffy seemed relieved that you actually enjoyed the story about Shanks.

After the story of Luffy, an comfortable silence echoed the boat. It was filled with the noise of Luffy's complaints from time to time, and sometimes, if lucky, Zoro would respond to Luffy's almost endless ramblings. The sound of the two was enough to drive you awake throughout the whole journey. Listening to people's past stories was always so fascinating to you, its probably because you don't remember yours, but the story of how Luffy met Shanks was heartwarming. You thought about it, what is the feeling of having a cherished person? As you went over and over your thoughts, a raspy voice silken with sleep brought you back to your senses. "Im suprised you managed to stay awake all this time." Zoro quietly mutters, he was now fully awake after his long sleeping session.
