Chapter 48 (Dark Rising)

(Readers POV)

I saw that the sky has returned back to normal. Dark Gaia has been defeated. Does that mean Sonia and Chip are alright? The people around are celebrating that everything is back to normal. I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see who did it, but I don't see anyone behind me.

(Y/N): What the?

Sonia: Ahem. Behind you.

I turned back around and saw Sonia standing there. I felt a lot of relief seeing her standing in front of me. I quickly wrapped my arms around her tightly and rested my chin on her shoulder.

(Y/N): I'm glad... To see you back.

Sonia hugged me back and patted me on the back.

Sonia: It's alright, babe. I'm back.

I eventually let go of Sonia and looked around.

(Y/N): Hey, where's Chip?

Sonia lifted up her left arm and I saw her wearing a bracelet that has a green orb that looked like one that Chip wore.

(Y/N): Does that mean...?

Sonia just nodded her head. I accepted the fact that Chip is gone. He is Light Gaia after all. He was going to be gone when his job of putting the planet back together was done.

(Y/N): So where's Tails?

Sonia: She landed the Tornado 1 nearby.

(Y/N): Nice. I want to go home now. Getting home sick and all.

Sonia looked at me for a moment. Did she catch on that I made up the home sick excuse?

Sonia: Alright. You want me to come with you?

(Y/N): ...Yeah.

We heard some footsteps getting closer. Me and Sonia looked over and saw it was Professor Pickle and Amy.

Amy: What?! You two are leaving already?! We just got done with the welcoming back party!

Professor Pickle let out a chuckle.

Pickle: I suppose our heroes need their rest. Everything needs rest. That is how life is. And it's more cucumber sandwiches for me.

Me and Sonia said our goodbyes and walked off to find Tails. She waved as I got into the back seat of the Tornado 1. Sonia hopped in and sat down on my lap. Tails started to fly the plane, heading to my place.

(Y/N): ...

Everyone stayed silent as we traveled. After a bit, we made it to the town my apartment is in. Tails managed to land the plane nearby. Me and Sonia got out of the plane.

(Y/N): See you later, Tails.

Tails: See you later, (Y/N). And make sure to bring those shoes of yours by my workshop sometime. I've been working on a speed upgrade for them.

Sonia: Oh, well look at that. Getting a free upgrade.

Tails started to make the plane fly again, leaving the area. Me and Sonia walked over to my apartment. I opened the door and was about to walk inside, but Sonia stopped me.

Sonia: (Y/N).

(Y/N): Yeah, Sonia?

Sonia: Do you want to talk about... That?

I know the "that" she's referring to is my family. I shook my head no.

(Y/N): No. Not really. Not now anyway. Maybe tomorrow?

Sonia looked at me concerned for a moment before nodding her head and placed a kiss on my lips. We stayed kissing for a bit until she broke it.

Sonia: Then I'll be here tomorrow. But if you need anything before then, make sure to call me.
