"Can you stop this story now?!"
The bearded man's voice, thick with impatience, startled John. He raised his voice, making John jump slightly.
John sighed, reluctant to stop, but gave in when he saw the bearded man's glare.
"Okay, okay... fine."
But seeing Daniel's almost sad expression, though hidden, John hesitated.
"But..."
The bearded man groaned in annoyance.
"Just finish it!"
John continued,
"After that, my wife and I went to our room. I grabbed my rifle and gun, of course, and gave the gun to Sarah.
Then we ran away. That's it!"He finally finished, feeling a pang of guilt for cutting the story short.
"Ugh, FINALLY!"
the bearded man exclaimed, a sigh of relief escaping his lips.
"Hey, that was a great story, John."
Daniel said, a hint of a smile playing on his lips.
"You're welcome."
John replied, a twinkle in his eye.
"Have you finished protecting the cabin?"
the bearded man asked his first son, his voice laced with concern.
"Yeah, Pop."
Daniel confirmed, his tone confident.
Earlier, while John had been captivating them with his tales, Daniel had been diligently working.
He had planted barbed wire, sharpened stakes, and set cunning traps around the cabin, creating a formidable barrier to ensure their safety and security.
"Let's get ready. We'll start preparing to sabotage the Red Crows."
the bearded man said firmly, his voice laced with a steely resolve.
"Right."
his son, Daniel, agreed, his expression mirroring his father's determination.
"Wait, right now? But—"
John began, a question forming on his lips, but the bearded man's scoffs cut him off.
"We are going right now."
the bearded man stated, his voice brooking no argument.
"Or do you want me to shove you into the woods until those monsters eat you up?"
He paused, his gaze hardening, and leaned closer, his eyes burning with a predator's glare.
