As soon as the sentence went through, vast amounts of information appeared in front of the two. In fact, maybe a bit too much information. The two bots glanced over at each other, then the screen, and then back at each other.
"I wasn't expecting your idea to actually work," Vontra admitted, pushing the taller bot out of the way so she could begin scanning through the articles and websites that were presented before her.
Rozzum, happily surprised, let out a small automated laugh, moving out of the way so the smaller bot could do her job. "I wasn't either, but I'm glad it did," she added while giving a slight nod, watching Vontra take in every word on each computer.
A few minutes passed by, and just as fast as the results appeared, they disappeared. Well, they didn't disappear, but there was no new information that would add to their idea of love.
"All of these websites say the same thing," the smaller bot said in a frustrated sigh. She scrolled through article after article, writing down key details. They did, in fact, summarize the same few points.
The taller bot took a step forward, looking over the tentacle bot to see her notepad. Her eyes adjusted as she read it, and three phrases were underlined. "Relationships, acts of kindness, and physical affection stimulate the feeling of love?" Roz asked, wondering if she was reading it correctly. "Is that all?"
Vontra's body-less head turned to face Rozzum, her red eye zooming in on the taller robot's face. "Yes, that's all," she stated, clicking the pen before putting it down neatly on the pad. "It's hard to find new details when everything you read is practically copied and pasted," she retorted, speaking as though she were a critic of sorts.
"Well, we have to find something else," Roz half muttered, leaning over the smaller bot to begin typing again.
This time, Vontra moved out of the way, allowing Roz to experiment with what she searched up. But to no avail. Whatever the two tried to search, the same results popped up. It's like they hit a brick wall, doomed to be stuck in the same spot forever.
The two sat in silence for a while, using their mechanical 'brains' to think of something, anything that would provide different answers.
"I got it!" Rozzum announced out of the blue, almost tripping over herself as she rushed to the keyboard. She quickly typed in her sentence, pressing enter. And... it was the same few articles.
Vontra's red eye zoomed into the screen, and one of her tentacles grabbed her pen, raising it up. Her blue outline began to turn a reddish hue, and her tentacle gripped the pen so tight it began to crack. Suddenly, she lunged her pincer forward, aiming the pen point for the center of the computer screen.
It flew in fast, and she used all of her strength to push it forward, ready to pierce the scre— knock knock knock.
Vontra froze in place, the pen a mere centimeter away from the computer screen. She turned her head to look at Rozzum, who was frozen as well, her arms reached out as if she were about to stop the tentacle bot from damaging the computer.
There was another knock, and the two bots turned their attention to the highly secured door. It was one of those metal sliding doors, the one that couldn't be opened without the proper passcode. There was no possible way to enter without it.
Then the door slid open.
Both of the robots stared as a man stepped inside the white lab, his footsteps echoing through the silence. As he walked closer, they noticed a pair of round, black rimmed glasses rested on the bridge of his nose. He was in a stereotypical white lab coat, and his hair was a dirty blond, almost brown which fit in nicely with his green tired eyes.
