The sun was setting behind Omashu's walls, casting an amber glow over the city as Team Avatar prepared to leave. Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Toph—who had only recently joined—were chatting and packing with Appa when a loud crackle came from the edge of the plaza. They turned to see a figure, cloaked in shadows, standing The gates of omashu as they were leaving. The flicker of flames in the figure's palm was unmistakable... it were a firebender.

Y/n stepped forward, brushing ash from your hands. "Don't worry," you said, raising both hands to show peace, though sparks still smoldered around your fingertips. "I'm not here to fight. I've...actually been looking for you."

.

.

Sokka immediately grabbed his boomerang, eyes narrowing :"Yeah, and why exactly should we believe you?"

Toph, though blind, tilted her head slightly, picking up on the steadiness of your voice and heartbeat through her earthbending senses : "I think they're telling the truth,"

she said, though a hint of curiosity laced her voice. "And they're pretty good at standing their ground. Solid."

Y/n met Toph's gaze, giving her a small nod. Then, you looked up at Aang, who seemed more curious than wary. The Airbender took a step toward you, appraising you carefully.

Y/n : "I've heard stories about you, Avatar," you said, finding your words carefully. "I thought maybe you'd need another ally—someone who knows the Fire Nation from the inside."

Aang looked thoughtful.

.

.

.

while Katara crossed her arms skeptically : "Why would a Firebender want to help us?"

Taking a deep breath, you clenched your fists to keep the embers in your hands under control.

Y/n :  "Not everyone agrees with the Fire Lord's mission of conquest," you replied softly. "Some of us...some of us are tired of seeing our people turn into monsters. I don't want to be part of it anymore i abandoned the fire nation years ago and have been travelling alone and when i heard the avatar was back i knew i had to find you."

Katara's expression softened slightly, though she still looked uncertain. Aang, however, broke into a gentle smile.

Aang : I believe you, I can sense that you want to change things. And maybe you can help us.

.

.

After some hesitation, Katara gave a short nod, and Sokka reluctantly lowered his boomerang. Toph simply smirked. "I like this one," she said, nudging your shoulder. "We could use another bender who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty."

Aang extended his hand to you, and you took it, feeling a spark that had nothing to do with firebending. His eyes shone with a warmth you hadn't felt in a long time, and for the first time, you felt like maybe you had a purpose beyond the Fire Nation's war and Travelling in the woods alone.

.

.

As the group moved away from Omashu, you took your place beside Toph, who was more than happy to banter with you, testing your strength and resolve. Sokka threw a few snarky comments your way, but you could sense his defenses lowering, even if he'd never admit it.

That night, as everyone settled in around a small campfire, you sat next to Katara. She eyed you carefully, finally speaking in a low voice. "You really think you can go against the Fire Nation?"

You looked into the fire, the embers dancing between the two of you.

Y/n : Why not? i mean you guys are doing it and i really dont have much of a purpose at the moment and helping the avatar stop this war sounds like a pretty good purpose to me.

Katara : I understand what you mean but this quest in very dangerous you know?

.

.

Y/N : I know... and I am ready to help you guys in any way i can... except maybe sokka he seems very rude i mean I know I am technically fire nation and all but I already told him my entire story he is cautious I suppose.

.

.

Katara : Well yeah but you can't blame him for that the fire nation hasn't been very kind to us or anyone around.

Y/n : I know..

.

.

.

Aang : Hey Y/n maybe you could teach me some firebending this is perfect because I definitely can't find a firebending teacher in the fire nation who would be willing to help.

Y/n : Well about that I am a firebender by nature indeed but I mostly always use Lightning bending or basic firebending and trust me when i say this... I am very bad at teaching.

.

Aang : Aw there goes the hopes of finding a firebending teacher. but lightning sounds cool having another strong bender like you will still definitely help.

Katara : Don't worry aang im sure you will find a good teacher soon.

.

;)

.

A quiet fell over the camp, only broken by the crackling flames. Katara eventually nodded, her expression softening as she offered a small smile. Maybe—just maybe—you could find a home here, with them, as something more than just a runaway Firebender.
