POKIMANE late night talks, midnight walks

YOUR POV
it was one of those late nights where the world felt quieter. poki and i had been gaming for hours, with most of the crew signing off as the night dragged on. but she stayed, and i stayed, caught up in the comfortable lull of conversation that only seemed to get better with time.
"remember that time toast tried to sabotage me as imposter but then forgot to mute himself?" poki laughed, her voice a soft sound through my headphones. it was a story we'd heard a hundred times, but hearing it from her just made it feel different, like it was our own little memory.
"he has that power," i chuckled, feeling warmth creep up my face even though i was alone in my room. i knew she couldn't see me, but i imagined she could sense it somehow.
before we knew it, it was past midnight, and poki suggested a walk. i didn't think twice; i just grabbed my hoodie and headed to meet her, feeling like we were sneaking out like kids, with no real destination in mind. we wandered through the quiet streets, talking about the highs and lows of streaming, about what life might be like if we weren't always online. with her, i didn't feel the need to put on any persona—it was just poki and i, no cameras, no chat, just... us.
"ever think about the future?" she asked suddenly, looking up at the stars, her eyes bright despite the darkness.
"sometimes," i replied, glancing at her and wondering if she felt what i did, this weird, almost magnetic pull. "but it's hard to picture it. things just feel... like they're always changing, you know?"
she nodded, and for a moment, there was a silence that didn't feel awkward or empty. it was just there, letting us think about whatever was left unsaid.
by the time we made it back to the house, we were both exhausted. the couch looked way too inviting, and as soon as i sat down, poki settled next to me, her head leaning against my shoulder. it felt natural, like something we'd done a thousand times, even if we hadn't.
before long, her breathing softened, and i realized she'd fallen asleep. i thought about moving, but honestly? i didn't want to. the warmth of her against me felt too comfortable, too right. soon enough, i found myself drifting off too, the exhaustion catching up with me as my eyes closed, and the world quieted around us.
then, i heard footsteps, the crew trickling in—scarra, lily, toast, yvonne, michael, jodi, john, and sydeon. they paused when they saw us, their expressions softening. they didn't say anything, just exchanged knowing looks. no teasing, no interruptions—just a quiet acknowledgment of the moment.
as i drifted into sleep, i couldn't help but feel that maybe they were right. maybe we were just meant to be here, like this.
