The Surprise Guest

Tasha's POV

"Mum? Grandpa? Is anyone here?" It seemed like the coast was clear. I turned & closed the door as quietly as possible. When I turned back around "Tasha?" It was Grandpa. I hated when he did that. Scared the crap out of me, always. "Oh! Grandpa! Hey. How's it going?" Could I make it more obvious? "You're home quite early. I thought school didn't end for another 20?" He asked. We both knew why I was home now. "Well, I just couldn't stand the fact of not being around-okay. No point in standing here trying to fake this when we both know why I'm here" I couldn't stand to try to lie to grandfather.

He never did anything to me to ever make me lie to him. "thank you. What happened?" he asked. "Another girl," I answered. "she just kept on. She talked about you & Mum" He looked at me like I should be ashamed. "I told you before, you can't get mad just because someone drops me or your mother's name in something you don't like. We can handle ourselves." He turned to put the phone that was in his hand away.

"She talked about my Dad" I added on. He completely froze. "Oh... Well, what did she say?" He asked, his back still towards me. "I can't recite verbatim but she pretty much said he left because of us" I said. He turned around "did you give her hell?" He asked w/a grin on his face. "As much as I could w/the space I had" I responded. "That's my baby girl" he said, patting me on the head.

Mum came in w/some groceries "oh God, they're both smiling?" She said trying to shut the door w/her foot. "let me help Mum" I said, coming to my moms aid. "thank you baby. Hi daddy" she kissed grandpa on the forehead. Nicole was a bitch! Mum loves grandpa. Stupid hoe. I outta march down there right now & kick her skinny white ass.

"I just realized school doesn't end for another 10 minutes. What are you doi- please don't tell me... You got into another fight didn't you?! My God Tasha! You can't keep it together even for your first day?!" How could she just rip into me like that? She didn't even give me the chance to say anything. "Nicole brought up Dad. She said he left because of me. So, sorry I disappoint you so much. Maybe Dad was right to leave!" I ran into the backyard. Its the only place I can find peace w/in myself.

I reached into the hole in the tree I made as a child, when I thought the Alice in Wonderland story was true. I took out a secret box. I don't think my Mum would like it if she knew what I kept in it. Which is why I hid it in a tree. I opened it & took out the picture of my Dad & I. He looked like he loved me in this picture. I'm sure he did, so why'd he leave?

Nick's POV

I finally made it to the front gate. Turns out, this place is pretty damn far for someone who walked. As I tried to open the gate, I kept getting shocked. And not like the normal shocked, like... There's a force trying to keep me out shocked. I heard a door slam from behind the mansion. I ran to the back to see was going on. You never know how big a place is until you've ran from the front gate to the backyard. I saw Tasha, who had tears in her eyes. It broke my heart to see her so upset. I decided to do my best to make her feel better. So, I started climbing the stoned wall.

When I finally reached the top, she had a box in her hand. Now how'd she get that? I don't know but she looked at it like it was very sacred & special. I walked very slowly to where she had sat, so I didn't scare her. She had a picture of two people in her hand.

Forgetting that I wasn't trying to alarm her, "who is that?" I asked. Which, in turn, made her jump and hide the picture back in the box. "What are you doing here, how'd you find me?" She asked, as she began to rise to her feet. I outstretched my hand & helped her. "It took a very long time, I'll tell you that much" I said w/a chuckle. She began to fiercely wipe her eyes, as if she didn't want me to know she was crying. "You can't be here. You have to go now" she said, pushing me towards the wall I had so heroically climbed. "Woah there Speedy. Why so quick to kick me out? I just got here" I said, laughing when I realized she hadn't moved me much at all. "Yes, & it was nice but now its time to go. If my grandpa sees you-" I forgot! "I really want to meet him. I'm sure he's not what Rachel said, right?" I asked, making sure I wasn't writing a death note here. "No he's not but he's not a fan me & boys so you really have to go" I decided to move along with her, to make her feel like she was doing something. "Can I see you later?" I asked before I made my way back down the wall. "No. I'm suspended" she said with a frown. I, on the other hand, smiled. "Sweet! Me too!" I said, laughing in the process. "You, but why?" She asked me. "I left school early to come see you. Its alright, that school is wack anyway. I can't wait to move out of this place. Your G.P working tomorrow?" I asked. Then, I heard a voice coming from Tasha's backdoor. The way her face looked, I assumed it was her grandfather. "Yes, now please go!" She said, smacking my hands. "Good. I'll come over tomorrow afternoon" I said, making my way down. "Fine. Just hurry. Run, quick!" She said shooing me away. As I started to run, I thought about the situation. It made me question whether or not what Rachel said was true.
